Amazing study Bible
I have been wanting this for ages .Seems it on Instagram so I bought myself one .I am so glad I did as its so informative. Not keen on the cover design so for now just covered it in clear plastic as I know it will get dirty as it's White and I will be using it a lot .The pages are thin ( need to be) so will struggle to get highlighters but on every page so much information to help you understand each passage so no more googling when I don't understand. Well worth the money. Quite heavy as so big but I love it .God bless .

Most accurate one around
Most modern study bibles have fallen into apostasy in some form. Even the AMP has now fallen into supporting women leading the church, and the Macarthur study bibles are cessasionist - which quash the Holy Spirit and the spiritual gifts. This study bible is truly accurate and holds firm to biblical truth. Definitely recommended.

Fantastic
Whether you are religious or not, this is a fantastic read with study notes and has gone too such trouble with explanations, comments from scholars. A beautiful Bible. The only minor criticism is the writing is a bit small but overall it’s great

Amazingly helpful study Bible
Best thing I've bought - massively changed my Bible reading. Helps me prepare studies and one-to-ones as well as my own personal understanding.

ESV Study Bible
The ESV is an excellent translation. I have never been fond of the NIV as it appears to deliberately turn sentences around to get away from previous translations that follow the order of the Greek text. The NIV is also a phrase for phrase translation and, as a result removes ambiguities or alternative renderings of many verses. These alterantives often have value. The ESV is a word for word translation and is thus more transparent, letting me see the original more clearly. I have been a user of the RSV for forty years and thought I would be continuing to use it. I have easily switched to the ESV. Authorised/KJ and NKJ users could easily do the same. Those that have been brought up on the NIV will find it more difficult and may even think that the ESV doesn't read right. The study notes are brilliant but make the book bulky and heavy. A small truck should easily cope with the weight. Going back to the study notes, I will give you an example. I have long since thought that the passage in Isaiah six, often headed 'the commissioning of Isaiah' is actually Isaiah's eaves dropping on a conversation within the Trinity and should be headed, "The comissioning of Jesus." I have never heard anybody preach this and am often looked on askance when I susggest it. It's there in the ESV study notes. These notes also have the advantage of being a relief from boredom during many sermons. They are thorough and have many maps and diagrams. Especially in the New Testament they occupy more space that the text itself. Many advantages if you can carry it around.Nyall Davies

A good translation but notes are off
Lovely version of the Bible and is said to stand closer to the original ancient manuscripts. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is not for the Bible but for the notes. I was aware from other reviews that the notes were ‘off’ but they weren’t the main reason I bought this ESV version. However I felt I must point out that some of the notes are just not right and seem to be ‘people inspired’ rather than ‘Spirit inspired’. Checking one in particular at Luke 13:35, it directly contradicts another note on Psalm 118:26. So a great translation but don’t take the notes as gospel
