eXtremeRate Clear Atomic Purple Console Back Plate DIY Replacement Housing Shell Case for Nintendo Switch Console with Kickstand – JoyCon Shell NOT Included

I love this product. It is nearly perfect. These are so similar structurally to the OEM backplate that they are super easy to install. They look and feel great. The only real issue I had with mine was that the kickstand is a little loose*, but I did not have with the other kit that I purchased so I feel like mine might just be somewhat faulty. The only minor complaints with these is that they don't put the speaker cover and foam pieces on before shipping them and that the game card cover isn't included/preinstalled. I get that these are small, cost saving steps that the customer can do themselves in less than 5 minutes but it just seems silly that they would manufacturer these products so well but not take those few additional steps to make the process easier. Those issues are so minor and subjective that I'm still giving this item a 5 star rating as it's very easy to install with minimal experience. Altogether it may have taken 15 minutes to change my Switch from stock to unique.I contacted eXtremeRate and they sent an entire replacement kit for the problem I had with the kickstand. It arrived very quickly and the kickstand in the replacement kit was perfect. Their customer service is top notch!

This shell seems to be well built and has a soft finish to it. It reminds me of the old Gameboy and that's the main reason I got it! Replacing the back shell only took me about 30-45 minutes and is relatively easy, but make sure to watch a video on how to do it just to be safe. There is 1 screw per joy con rail that you have to remove to take the back off and they were both a pain to take off because they were in very tight and the screwdriver that comes with this plate is junk (it stripped the screws). I recommend purchasing a Switch screwdriver / repair kit with tweezers, spudgers, screwdrivers, etc. because it makes the job so much easier. The main thing I liked about this kit is it came with replacement screws for every screw you must remove and if you know Nintendo then you know that they like those tri-point screws but this kit came with Phillips replacements for all the tri-point ones. Overall, this kit was awesome as long as you take your time. It really gives the best customizability for your Switch!

Not impressed. Thin plastic. Makes the switch look ugly. Not worth sending back I’ll take the loss. Didn’t even come with kick stand. Waste of time and money. DO NOT BUY!!
