After a little trial and error (I made several mistakes, my own fault) this thing works great for lose leaf tea.Here's what I learned:Do not try to pour tea through the basket because nothing secures it and you will make a mess.Also, don't overfill the basket because the tea swells up alot while steeping. If you overfill, it turns the whole basket into a cork and it it difficult to get the tea out.Fill the basket less than half way, add water, seal, and turn upside down.After steeping, remove the basket before pouring or drinking.It is exactly the same volume as my favorite huge mug, so I transfer the contents after steeping, but you could drink right out if it after it cools a bit. And it cools slowly thanks to the thermos-like insulation.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Didn't want a glass bottle for my tea, so I went with this one that seemed good quality. Packaging was good and came in perfect condition. I've used it for two days so far and everything seems to be working just fine, there is one thing tho. The cap fits a bit weird, so it doesn't feel super smooth and have to make a bit of an effort whenever screwing it on/off. Besides that thing on the cap, everything else seems to be perfect.

I bought this for my son, who loves to drink tea; he absolutely loves it. You can use it for hot or iced tea, but here in Hawaii, iced tea is better. It stays cold for quite a while as well.

I’m a huge fan of this. I switched to tea and the strainer fits in snug so there’s no issues pouring. I use loose green tea, shredded ginger, hibiscus, cardamom etc. in the strainer. I haven’t had any issues with anything loose coming out of the strainer.For the heat retention aspect, it’s amazing. I accidentally left tea in overnight and when I poured it out the next day, it was still fairly hot. It’s perfect if you allow your ingredients to steep for a while. Also, it’s great with retaining cold. Sometimes I’ll fill it up with some ice and add a drink mix or matcha for a cold drink utilizing the straining lid as a stopper for the ice.The design and ergonomics of the bottle are fantastic too. No issues with leaks. I may get one or two more of these.

I like the size and design. good for day travels, keeps water or tea hot for about 6 hours but not overnight.
