Works just fine but... Hit my cat in the nose and now he is afraid of it.
I feed my cat on our old highchair to keep it away from the dog, which may be why he got hit. The feeder takes a lot of space on the highchair tray so the cat has to get close. Perhaps if I put it on the floor, it would have opened sooner and not hit Sammy's nose, but I doubt he will ever approach it again.2 weeks later: I put it on the floor and put his favorite treats in it. He could only get his treats from the Beelike. for several days I opened it with my foot and let him get his treats till he started checking it out by himself, and of course when he looked into the dish to see if there were any treats, it opened. That still scared him, so he stood back and didn't get hit. Finally, he would stick this head in to get some treats, but the next inadequacy showed up; he would stretch around to the side of the dish, which caused the sensor to no longer register his presence and close, narrowly missing him as he flinched away. So I built a tray that would not let him approach any way but the straight front, and after he got used to the new tray, he was able to master the whole process. Success! There is another dish on the market with 3 sensors, which may have solved that problem, but I am satisfied for now.

great pet bowl with one major flaw
i decided to try this pet feeder to replace my surefeed motion sensor one just for a change. There are not too many of these products on the market and each has its strengths and faults. These feeders are great for keeping wet cat food fresh. when this arrived i liked it because it is small and rechargeable. I loved that it has a stainless steel bowl. The lid opens and closes quickly which may scare some pets but my cats didn't seem to mind. The only downfall and its a big one is the sensor. There is only one sensor in the front. The minute the cat goes to the side to eat (and they all do), the lid closes quickly..on their head. I saw somewhere online a very clever man solved the problem by building a little tent around the unit to prevent the cats from eating from the side of the bowl. Im not willing to do that. Ive had surefeed bowls for years and they have motion sensors on all sides of the bowl and their lids open and close slowly. They also had issues with their bowls with some glitches but their company said they have since worked out the glitches and their bowls have a 2 year warranty. so back to them i go. If this company adds the side motion detectors this will be a great automatic pet bowl.

Great in every other way, except in the way it should be.
I wanted to like this so much because it has so many great features: removable stainless steel bowl, elevated, rechargeable, clear top that keeps smell in, compact, (seems sturdy and durable -- I didn't have it long enough though), easy to clean, and sleek design. However, the con is a big one: the sensor is off and only in the front, and it opens/closes rather fast and loud, the combination of which makes feeding problematic (if not impossible) and might scare your cat of his/her feeding station! It defeats the purpose of a feeder. Perhaps my unit was defective, but it seems others have experienced the same problem? When I turn it on, it keeps closing and opening rapidly continuously, even when there is no motion.I somehow discovered, as I'm playing along with it, that when it's elevated at least 2 inches (say, on top of a book or something) it works fine. But if I have to do that, then surely there is a product flaw. Also, even when I started to do that, it closed on my cat a couple of times while he was eating, hitting his head and scaring him!I had to return it but if these issues are addressed, it would be so perfect! Adding sensors on the sides and maybe a weight scale will be nice too.

Make sure you get everything in your package
It’s great and works for what I purchased it for but I never got a charger so it lasted for about two months....

It does the job for my little one.
I bought this item for my little Yorkie because unfortunately my new apartment kept getting sugar ants that were attacking her food. She was very scared of it at first to the point where she was taking a mouthful of food and running away. The reason why is because the lid closes so rapidly and is loud. I'm sure I'm being bias because she's my baby, but she realized if she touches the sensor with her nose every few seconds it will not close. I really really love this bowl, but I wish there was a way to adjust the sensor. But that is the only con about it. Also I did have to raise it a few inches so I put it on a box because it wasn't "sensing" when she was in front of it.The only other thing which is completely my fault was putting the charger cable in the box and my husband threw the box away. I hoping I can buy one separately or find something similar. Waiting for the seller to get back to me.Other than that I'm happy with this item. Thanks

Tldr: make sure you have their charging cable
Is a great size, but it is a little loud. Worked well as a stopgap for my roommate’s thief cat. We’d just turn the motion detection off and that way knew the thief wasn’t getting in to my cat’s food. It worked very well for 3 months, but then the battery ran out...The listing I purchased from said it did not include a charger and there was no option to buy one. I figured no problem, I have a universal battery charger. The provided battery life was charged, and works in my flash light, but the bowl will not turn on. Even with a fully charged brand new battery it no longer works.Return window is closed, and I cannot find the method of contacting the manufacturer even following their directions. I am disappointed. 3 stars because it DID work well and we were able to save for the microchip ID bowl while it worked, but minus 2 for the charger/battery problems.
