Easy install.
Not a fan of wires. Unfortunately, this has plenty. Had to hard wire to get rid of 2 wires. There is no option but to cut the cig lighter power supply or get a bit creative as I did. Ultimately, I hid all the wires. The kit seems to be outdated and could be consolidated. Still, works well. Also, not much literature with it. Have to Google or YouTube for more info.

Problems with the GPS at first, but now fixed. See the update at the bottom.
The setup of the item on my SDS200 scanner was pretty easy. I used it on a trip to FL; on the trip down it worked like a charm. I took both the scanner and GPS puck into the hotel with us nightly, but on the day that we left to return home- the GPS just stopped functioning.I’ve been in contact with Scanner Master via email and we’ve trying to decipher what has transpired. I hope I can change my three-star rating to a five soon.Thank you.Update: I forgot to update this review- it is called being 65… The above problem with the GPS has been fixed- kudos to the UNIDEN team! There is now an update for the Sentinal software for programming; if you already have this unit, please update this if you haven't lately. There is also a new “waterfall” key available (nominal fee) for the unit. I'd recommend this radio for sure now.

Perfect for SDS200, not as smooth for SDS100
This is super quick install on the SDS200, all you need is the single RJ11 type cable between the GPS unit and the scanner. Very clean. I really bought this for my SDS100 and it's not quite as smooth for that. In order to connect to the SDS100 you need to use the additional component, which appears to be a serial to USB converter. That requires the use of an external power source via the included cigarette lighter plug or the included wall charger. It is not portable in this configuration. 5 stars for the SDS200 and 3 at best for the SDS100.

Great GPS system, but for my SDS-200, too many wires
I love when my scanner asks me if we're in the bay area? No, then you must be in San Francisco, yes, end of problems, but the scanner only uses GPS for location, it would be nice if it could give me directions, but, all in all, I love my setup!

Easy to use for my SDS 200
I was a little apprehensive if I was buying the correct thing for my Uniden SDS200 scanning radio. Used it on a road trip and worked awesome! It kept my scanner operational as my location changed through out the US.In the package I received a bunch of parts, but I only needed the small gps receiver box, and the short RJ11 cord to connect it to the rear of my radio.

Game changer when scanning on the road
Pros: On a road trip it's great to have the radio update in line with your movements.Cons: It's quite bulky with all the wires. Something better to be permanently wired in rather than just used ad-hoc

Worked great until it didnt
I bought this for a cross country trip to use with my BCD436HP and it worked flawlessly. Super easy to get setup and running.A month after i got back it quit working. The scanner no longer connects. I've tried everything up to a hard reset and nothing seemed to work.
