One flaw or else it would be perfect
I've had this for about 3 hours as of this post. I was so excited to get a magsafe adapter for my MacBook pro 2019. The first one I tried (different product) blocked the other charging port so I bought this one to try. So far I am loving the fact that this has a small connector so it doesn't interfere with the other port at all.I am giving this 3 stars because the connector side where you plug the cord in seems loose. When I first tried it, it was extremely positional and I couldn't move my laptop because it would stop charging... obviously not what I envisioned. I realized the connector was just loose so i taped it together with electrical tape and it seems to be much sturdier now. But I wish I didn't need to do that in the first place... Magnet seems to be strong enough to hold up when moving the computer around though so that's a plus.Overall love the size of the product, it will be great as long as my electrical tape holds up.

works but fitting is loose
Bought this to make connecting the charger to my macbook pro. The connector works and you can charge your laptop through the mac safe like connection but the cable connector is not tight and your USB-C can come loose every now and then. The magnetic connector does have a light that shows you that the laptop is charging but the actual magnetic connect does have a little wiggle room and is not a snug fit. This causes the connection to fail in a particular position and you have to wiggle it so that it charges. I had to consistently move it around all the time and on more than one occasion I forgot to pay attention to the light and realized that my laptop was not charging and so I didn't have power when i needed it unplugged.

Provides protection to your device from damage caused by yanking or tripping over the power cable
The detachable power connector are compatible with my iPads protective case, unlike some other solutions. It is very helpful that I can use my own, various length, cables so I can still use my iPad while it is charging. My only complaint is that the magnets that connect the two pieces are a little weak, resulting in disconnecting too easily, even during normal use. However, the purpose of the device is to provide protection in the case of accidentally tripping over the power cable x the cable detaches from my iPad before the iPad gets yanked onto the floor, which could damage the charging port or the iPads screen, etc.So, it provides the protection I need.

Works to charge a laptop
Originally I bought the simple two pin magnetic charger style leads. These can charge mobile phones and power bricks but it didn't work for my small laptop. What I didn't understand was that for high power devices such as laptops more than two pins are required to provide enough power and maybe charging state. This works perfectly and the little light on the end is useful to know when it has power. The only reason I gave it 4 not 5 stars is that the socket into which the USB C cable is plugged is weak and it doesn't take much effort to pull the lead out of this socket. The magnetic connection is very strong.

Quality could be better; not a snug fit!
I missed the magnetic adapter with my former MacBook Pros (2012 - 2015) where you can easily plug or unplug the power cord without an issue. This adapter promotes the same feature on the new MacBook Pro 2019. It's a great idea but the adapter connection with the USB-C cable is not firm and very much flimsy. I had to use scotch tape to bind the two together (see photos). In addition, the port connector (to the MacBook) extends too much outside the case and considering its shape, it is kind of inconvenient to put my laptop in its sleeve case as this would be in the way most of the time. I'm using it, but I believe improvements are needed.

worked for only 2 days!
I don't often write reviews... but here i lost my time and my money since i can't send the product back (because i bought it on Amazon.com and i'm now in Europe).I have a new MBP 13 inch 2019 (2 usb-c ports) and this magnetic adapter was a good solution for me. For 2 days, i had no problem. the laptop was charging properly at 60 W and the adapter was not hot. However it stopped charging right after i had some trouble to remove the power cable from the magnetic adapter. I tried several times afterwards to plug the power cable (with the magnet adapter) to a different usb-c port but the result is the same.

Good for accidental "break away"
I wanted something that would mimic the old MagSafe plug. This comes really close. I have small children at home, so having that assurance of knowing that if they tripped over the cable, my laptop wouldn't go flying!Pros: It does good with charging. Definitely charges quickly.Cons: The magnet needs to be stronger. I use the factory charging cable, and because of its stiffness, the magnet tends to fall off unless I have it positioned perfectly. It's something I can look past though to ensure the cable doesn't get ripped out the side of my MacBook.

OEM Charging cable doesn't seat solidly to the adaptor.
First the good. This thing sticks to my 2019 MacBook Pro's usb-c port like glue. In fact, it's hard to get out. The magnet works quite well and disconnects with an appropriate amount of tension, much like the old MagSafe connector from my 2013 MBP.Now the bad. The OEM charging cable (and in fact all other usb-c cables I tried with it) doesn't stay connected to the adaptor. The slightest amount of tension will disconnect the cable from the adaptor. Perhaps it's another safety "feature" but I suspect the female port is just a little too long for the cable.
