Winter candy board is 16 bs of sugar with a variety of essential oils for bee’s health. Peppermint, wintergreen, tea tree, salt,pollen and honey for attraction. Helps control varroa also. NO High Fructose Corn Syrup or soy is used. Candy Board is placed on top of brood box with inner cover and outer cover placed above it. The sugar absorbs moisture throughout the hive, which makes small droplets and softens the sugar on bottom side of board the bees eat and drink which helps feed them all winter long. The wooden frame 1 1/2" vent shim has 2 holes front and back with screening which is designed for ventilation. In winter it is placed under inner cover and in summer placed above the inner cover. Any extra sugar left over can be mixed into spring feeding syrup.
