Duracell PROCELL fka Duracell Medical grade are GREAT batteries -- VERY LONG LASTING!
Duracell has even outdone itself with these batteries! I originally purchased these when they were called Duracell "medical grade" batteries. I mean... if I had medical equipment that ran on a battery I'd surely want it to last as long as possible. Not only that, but the low battery light on the equipment starts blinking very early to let you know it's almost time to change the battery. Since I wasn't using these batteries for life-saving medical equipment, I let the low battery light blink to see just how long I could go before changing the batteries. I was very impressed that there was a super long "grace period" to the batteries' life span before I finally had to change them. Even my computer pro son uses these batteries now. He prefers them over rechargeable batteries because they are not only long-lasting but very dependable. (I've never been a fan of rechargeable batteries, myself.) Down here on the Gulf Coast where afternoon thunder storms sometimes act like "mini hurricanes" and just as easily knock the power out, a good battery is super important -- especially in an NOAA weather radio.

Better Than Coppertops!!!
With a few minutes of research you will see that these batteries are made by Duracell, but are made to meet HIGHER STANDARDS than the Coppertops in terms of capacity and build quality. Coppertops are the "everyday man's" battery for normal demand, but the Duracell Procell is made for industrial use, and is therefore not sold in quantities under a 24-pack, which is why you never see them in local stores. The Procell is not only superior to the Coppertop, it is also a fraction of the price (roughly 50%-75% cheaper per battery). The Procells are a well kept secret. While the public dishes out premium prices for small packs of Coppertops at their local gas station, people in industry buy large quantities of Procells for a fraction of the price and they last longer and hold up to more abuse. Once you learn about these Procells you'll never buy Coppertops again.

The real McCoy but made in China. A good value.
These batteries are genuine Duracells. The box says 'Not for Retail Trade' They work well. Unlike the Duracells you buy in the store, though, these are not made in the U.S. I am satisfied with the product, but will not repurchase.

No need buy any other brand of battery or buy in retail packaging. What a deal!
I've just always used Duracells in both personal and professional applications. I thought about buying the AmazonBasics ones, but these were only 14 cents more per battery, and I trust them. I'm sure Amazon's are fine, but "if it ain't broke don't fix it," right? Knowing what I'm getting is valuable to me. I've used Duracells for critical audio applications for the last 12 years where the device COULD NOT fail, or my job would be in jeopardy. (Wireless microphones for major touring acts.) I used to be able to take home tons of barely used Procells from my old job, but I've finally run out and was happy to see these were on Amazon. They're Duracells, but you get them all in a paperboard box with no unnecessary plastic, etc. so you save a lot of money (it is possible to pay nearly $1 per battery in the retail bubble pack) and hassle over buying the "Coppertops." It's also better for the environment - batteries already suck for the Earth, so the least you can do is reduce using plastic packaging when you can. This version of the Procells don't even come in the 4-pack boxes within the larger box - they're just all in there together which makes things even easier.

Great batteries at a good price
They're Duracel, what more can I say? No issues, no leaking, long lasting, alkaline batteries. No fancy packing or gold battery covers. Who really cares what they look like? They're batteries, not jewelry.

Wished I would have read more reviews before making this buy!
I have always swore by the Duracell copper tops, best battery on the market, in my opinion. Then some one gave me a mixed assortment of different sized Duracell Pro Cell (the red and black ones) and they seemed to last just as long if not longer than the copper tops. So I had ran out of the gifted AAs and found 48 AA pro cells here on Amazon for less then $20, I thought "what a great deal, looks like they changed the packaging from red & black to gold and black." This has to be the worst experience I have ever had with batteries, I put the first 2 in a flash light, turned it on and nothing happens, guessed I was not paying attention and put one in backwards, but that was not the case. So I grabbed my tester and one of them was totally dead. So i went to testing all of them, 14 of the 48 was dead right out of the package, the others showed 1.6 or 1.58 about half and half. So started putting them in several different devices, went back about 4 days later to check a game camera that I had put 8 in, to my surprise it was not working, I popped open the battery compartment, and they had leaked all inside running my $300 camera. So I hurried over to my other camera hoping the same thing had not happened, the battery gauge was showing almost dead, popped out the tray and 2 had started leaking, but not bad enough to harm the camera. So then I started checking everything I had put them in, and had 2 flashlights full of battery acid. After reading some of the reviews I am seeing that I am not the only one having this problem with them. Wished I would have read more reviews before making this buy! I do NOT recommend anyone buying this item and using it in anything you want to last very long!!!
