Why does it look like a hairdryer?

The answers here are funny, but the real answer is that the dangling part is the battery. The nice thing about this Pro version is that the battery is much shorter -- the original AirPods looked like snot was hanging out of your ear. These are much more compact and subtle than that.

How is call (mic) quality? (i currently use the plantronics 5200 which has amazing (mic) noice reduction)

When it comes to others being able to hear you in noisy environments Nothing beats plantronics 5200 headsets. Only others comparable would be the fast food order taker style headset like the parrot ones. As far as sound quality for you as the wearer absolutely amazing. If you want people to hear you noisy environments Plantronics is better if you just want to be heard in quiet environments these will do perfectly fine and you get the greatness of audio also.

Is the noise cancelling feature sufficient enough to drown out the sound of a lawnmower?

Will it drown it out? No. Will it substantially lower the noise you perceive? Yes. Noise canceling on earbuds is REALLY good and blocking constant noises. A fan blowing, road noise from a car, etc. It’s less good at canceling sporadic, constantly changing noises, though it does help with those as well.

Can this airpods pro connect to huawei or samsung?

i have found that after the airpod shows as being connected and is active on my Google Pixel, if I close the wireless case, the airpod is disconnected. Why is this happening? I thought this was compatible with Android.
