Bought this for my grandson. He loves it and it gives him time to work with his parents.

My 8 yr old grandson really enjoys it. especially the shooting stars. It performs as advertised. The only negative so far has been that the batteries don't last very long. There is plug in for an AC adapter but it is not included or offered by the manufacturer. The specs for the adapter (per the manufacturer) are : 5 volt /1 amp DC connection socket: hollow plug outside: 3.5mm inside 1.35mm polarity outside : ground inside : positive voltage. You can purchase an adapter on Amazon or elsewhere. Mine was about $10 on Amazon.

I bought this for my granddaughter for Christmas. Operation is complicated and it is not sturdy enough for 6 year old to use. I am very disappointed in this product. My granddaughter lives 36 hours away and I have to have gifts shipped. This was a costly mistake and more so, I am sad that my gift to her was not special as I hoped it would be.

I should have researched this a little more. I'm embarassed. The provided disks only show the night sky with constellation names or without. This was the biggest waste of money. no other features. I don't recommend this to anyone. there are better options.

I wanted to buy discs for it, other than the one it comes with, and you can’t buy them cuz they’re made in Russia, and we don’t trade with them right now.

300 for a very basic projection not happy at all with the purchase and want to return it !

This is the first meaningful review I have written for anything I have bought on Amazon. I will be brief. If you are looking to buy a planetarium/star projector for someone, this is the product to get. I spent three days reading the often contradicting feedback for planetariums online, and viewing the curiously priced competing products on this website. As far as I can tell this is the very best one in terms of value for money and what the projection actually does. The others are either cheap, have a poor focus or other defect or project stylised drawings of stars rather than constellations. This has a sharp but adjustable focus focus, isn’t too noisy (no more than a laptop) and casts a good image on your ceiling. There is a shooting star button, turn it on and after a minute or two a star will pass across the sky –it is not immediate though. This repeats every few minutes. I bought this for my partner who loves stargazing and it has made her exceptionally happy. Falling asleep to it is a very soothing experience. I would rank this as the best received present I have got for anyone ever -and this is a testament to the product's quality. Two disks -one with constellations mapped, one of just the stars. Delivery was quick, it does arrive in the product box with a delivery sticker, no other external packaging which is something to be aware of depending on where you are having it delivered e.g. if the recipient is likely to take it at the door.
