The Backyard Chicken Bible: The Complete Guide to Raising Chickens Paperback – December 12, 2014

Great book! Has tons of information to help you figure out what you're doing. The author has done a great job writing this book. He adds humor and has made it an easy read. He has information in there for everyone whether you're going to show chickens, have a few or a lot, free range or not. Would highly recommend it.

My husband really enjoyed this book. He said it was very interesting & he learned a lot about chickens.

This is my first year raising chickens. I read this book before purchasing my birds and I continue to use it as a reference. I recommend this book for anyone looking at raising chickens.

Very few pictures and they are black and white. I just expected more pictures because my military issues makes it hard to read but I can do well with pictures and duplicate

So it is a great book. Had a lot of good information on keeping chickens but the author seem to focus a lot on breeding, raising chicks, more large scale "chicken farming" than the title will lead you to believe. For me backyard chickens will be a total of 3 hens for laying eggs and for manure in the vegetable garden, this book is more for people who want to have way more hens, roosters (not allowed in my area for "backyard" chickens), and raising chicks. All in all good information but left me needing to purchase a different kind of book to relate more to my needs.
