Practical Guide to Qabalistic Symbolism

Possibly one of the first Kabbalah books you should own!
This is my second pass on these books (2 volumes in one) and my first pass 20 years ago left me confused. After many strange journeys i've returned to it and each word is solid gold - written from experience and leading clearly through some really tricky esoteric material. Can understand the disclaimer at the beginning of the book (nobody is perfect) and then when he starts leading he is pulling you some of the most descriptive and helpful passages in regards to all the strange occult titles with absolute precision - leaving you free to understand it in your own terms in its correct place. It's amusing to see himself confused with some elements (which he surrenders as not knowing rather than rambling like an idiot) that you yourself can probably understand - making you feel as an equal throughout and enlightened in a perfect way... astounding and a must for anyone touching the QBL.

Excellent ! A must buy
Anyone interested in the Qaballah from the standpoint of the Western Mystery Tradition should own this book. The first volume provides the reader with a complete view of the sephirah of the tree of life which actually enhances any knowledge you may already have found in Dion Fortune's work. Gareth Knight has provided his own perspective which serves to deepen the reader's understanding of the qaballah (even if you've read books on this subject before). The second volume's summary of the paths is unsurpassed, in my opinion. This is readable, detailed and an essential to a hermetic student's library.

Masterful piece of work
A masterful piece if work and classic reference. The only reason for not 5 starring is the poor quality of reproduction - the print. otherwise, for content, it is 5 start +.

A "must have" for those with more than a passing interest
Of the books I have read on the subject this is the one I keep going back to. The book strikes a perfect balance by being neither a casual and superficial read nor dense and obscure. It makes an excellent reference text and is based on the glyph of the Tree of Life. It provides a wealth of associated images, symbols, meanings, myths, etc that assists one in getting a sense of the nature of the paths/spheres. I definately recommend it to anyone who has done some basic reading on the Qabala and wants to make a more detailed study of it.

Approach as you do when Eating a Pomegranate!
Great book with much sourcematter on the Qabalah, that has been enriched with some matching psychological data. I would suggest reading this book while you are in the process of, or once you have internalized the Tree of Life and have understood well the cards of the Tarot (and their symbolic significance). I would suggest commiting those two aforementioned systems to memory, uniting them to one another, and reading this book in tandem with this amplification and memorization, which Tarot and Qabalah call for. I would peruse the pages slowly, and make the stanzas in the book, points of meditation that you can use to strengthen or fertilize your growing psyche as it buds via this practice. C. G. Jung spoke of the Tree of Life in his book "Seven Sermons to the Dead", calling it the "Growing One" which ,"ever grows and collects knowledge unto itself." It separates ideas and energies into their categories, which is an aspect of the Creative Logos, which creates but also categorizes and divides its creations into distinct categories. They say that the Tarot is the training wheels on the vehicle on the road into Psychic Abilities & the Tree of Life (I say) is the training wheels on the vehicle on the road to the Knowing the Mind of God. (which is possible - even as scriptures report)...

Best book on the modern Qabalah avaiilable
It is not well known but there are two divisions of Qabalistic thought. One is the traditional Qabalah based on the Zohar and the other is the modern approach developed by the Order of the Golden Dawn and based on the Sepher Yetzirah. Dion Fortune Took that and presented it in The Mystical Qabalah. Garreth Knight was a member of The Society of the Inner LIght (Dion Fortune's group) and had access to the archives. He updated the material, expanded it and presented it in this book. If you want to understand the Qabalah, this is the book you have to read.

Texto Base da Qabalah
A quem estuda Qabalah, IMPERATIVO lê-lo e estudá-lo! Um dos melhores tratados analíticos e filosóficos sobre o assunto, com ênfase profusamente DIDÁTICA. Muito bom!

The best practical Kabbalah available!
This is my second copy of this large but easy to read and understand in depth study of the Kabbalah. Everything you need to perform the complete work of the 22 paths and symbolic meditations. Watch out, the effects are like lighting on your psychic development. (Especially the 13th path!) Gareth Knight makes it as easy as sitting on the back porch enjoying a beer and a cigarette, not obscured and deliberately convoluted as they sometimes do. I highly recommend this book to beginner, or expert in the Kabbalistic study. I am a graduate of the Martinist order; my apology to the order, but their teaching methods did not hold a candle to this book.
