Be used?
It's the first time to be opened and that's what my mom said. Only half inside. I don't know it was used or that's what it is supposed to be

This product doesn't work at all for me. Too expensive for nothing.

Moisturizing, but overpackaged, overpriced, and cloyingly kitschy. Tested on cats and rabbits, too.
I don't mind this stuff. In fact, I kind of like to use it right before bed, especially, to sort of lock in any other eye products I may already have used because this product is quite occlusive. It is also very moisturizing; it reminds me of Vaseline. It doesn't really absorb into my skin, and it leaves the area around my eyes very greasy and shiny, which is why I wouldn't use this 'cream' (I think of it as more of a salve or an unguent) during the day or before applying makeup. Its base is apparently a mineral oil, so that all makes sense. This product is well presented, I guess, but I feel like that's a distraction from the price and the product itself. It comes in an attractive and uniquely shaped squat plastic jar in an imitation leather pouch. I like the pouch and am using it to hold some beauty rollers, but the whole thing is a bit much and unnecessary. I guess it helps support the exotic story that goes with this product...something about this being the same recipe used by Josephine, the wife of Napoleon. Sure, okay. And of course, you've probably already noticed the price of this eye cream. Currently $200 here on Amazon, that's actually a discounted price, as it sells for $284 on the brand's website! So is it worth all the fuss?? I don't think so. It is moisturizing, but it's pretty greasy, too, and I don't think the ingredients warrant the price. The 'backstory' feels weird and snake oil-y, though I do enjoy the kitsch of it all. However, If I'm paying $200 for an eye product, I much prefer actual skincare science over some kitschy fantasy. Furthermore, as far as I can tell, this brand is not cruelty-free, which means this and their other products are tested on immobilized and defenseless cats and rabbits. Maybe that was okay for Josephine, but I'd say some of her life decisions were questionable, anyway. Especially in this century, animal testing is ugly, and that ain't okay with me.

wTF is this? yellow jello like disk, not at all anything close to a cream
The media could not be loaded. oh gawd, what is this? Mind is bad? Mine doesnt look anything like what is shown in the product picture, and it doesnt even look like what anyone else has. Mine is a firm, yellow, translucent, gelatinous. Oily. Solidified. Like a chunk of fat. I can press on it and my finger just presses into extra firm jello. Nothing picks up on my finger. I scraped some of the product onto my finger using the included spatula, then warmed it up in my hand to see if it turns to something I can apply. I thought maybe it was more like a balm. It did warm up, but it was then a bit chunky. Being a bit of a risk taker, I went ahead and applied some carefully around my eyes. Crazy, right? well nothing terrible happened to my eyes, but they were irritated. Maybe I used too much, maybe it traveled to my eye, maybe it would be better at night. No matter, I will not be using this.Small little pot with twist off lid. Has a neat little round spatula incorporated into the lid cover. "Activation strip". Comes packed in a leathery drawstring bag. The contents filled maybe a quarter to one third of the container. I never ever make a point to comment on that because products are filled by weight, not by volume. Eye products tend to have very little as very little is all that is ever needed. So I expect container that is easy to hold but is likely to have little in it. So.. Half empty does not mean you were bamboozled out from receiving half the product. I dont see the weight listed in the product description, but on the bottle it says 15 ml/.5 ounce. That is a very typical amount for eye care products. The amount of my rubbery disk (again, not cream), appears to be about a tablespoon worth. So overall seems about accurate. I didnt scoop it out and weigh it.Also, I never rate on price--we all have different budgets.Overall cool looking presentation, but I can not use this product-- it is NOT a cream. I am using it as a cuticle cream. The stuff is just so oily and doesn't dry down quickly. I understand now why it was irritating to my eyes. MAYBE if it was a cream as it was supposed to be, all this would be fine.On the plus side, it smells really good. Has a light floral scent. Very pretty.

Stinky, but does moisturize
From the advert: "This wonderful cream was especially formulated by Byrne Victor as an “Ageless Mystery” for the sake of Queen Josephine, the wife of Napoleon. Because of its miraculous results, the formula of this luxurious royal cream was kept secret for 100years. Luckily, now you can have it too!"-------What a hoot. Sounds like one of those old timey medicine shows. I did a little googling and found an advert for a cream with almost exactly the same claims dated 1918. Also, it's Empress, not Queen, and while later in the listing it was saying how famous Dr Byrne Victor was, I couldn't find a trace of anyone of that name in that time. Oh well. Personally, I think the vendor should lose that bit and stick with the good, modern ingredients it has. It's much more compelling than the story they told. This cream arrived in a little faux leather pouch and a lovely blue container. Very frou frou. When I apply it, its a pretty smelly. Not pleasant to me at all, but the smell dissipates in a few minutes so I can tolerate it. After using it a bit over a week, it does brighten my eye area and it moisturizes nicely. As someone with mature skin, that's pretty important. It didn't make any big changes for me, but I'm pleased with what it does do. It won't be a repurchase though, there is nothing exotic in the ingredients that would justify the price. Plus, I think it's smelly.
