I've had these fasteners installed in cold, snowy weather for 5 years now...
They were too thick for the composite decking I purchased from Lowe's (Veranda ArmorGuard), so we had to widen the channel with a table saw. Once they're installed they seem to hold alright, though the metal end clips are crucial to keeping the boards in place. The only board movement I've noticed is where I did not install the metal end clip. I live in Alaska, so they definitely see the full weather-spectrum from snowy, freezing temps well below 0, to summer temps in the 80's. I haven't noticed any swelling issues. The hardware is beginning to rust after 5 years. I wish this weren't the case, but I plan to replace the screws with a slightly larger diameter when they fail.

Very good product
This summer we re-surfaced our existing deck with composite decking from a big box store. The clips that we supplied by the big box store as part of the computer generated BOM. These clips worked well, in that only 1 in 15 stripped and the clips were only supplied in groups of three hundred. We ran out of the supplied clips and none were available from the supplier. I search found these clips on Amazon. These were supplied in quanities of 50. The New Tech Woodclips were the same basic shape as the other clips. However, there were three major differences:1. There was only one screw per each clip and two drives were supplied to drive the screw through the clip into the joist.2, The drive on on the screws was a star shaped drive and none of the 35 clips I used to finish the deck stripped.3. Not shown on the picture of the clip are two vee shaped ridges that grip the boards.I was very pleased with these clips.

Not great with Trex
These clips do exactly what they claim to, but are not designed for Trex. They are incredibly easy to use, but if you want to use them with Trex, you have to grind them down a little. If you don't, the spacing between boards is close to half an inch. I would also note that, because they are plastic, they are also less durable than metal ones. I didn't reduce my rating for this, however, because that is comparing apples and oranges. I just thought it was worth mentioning.

The tabs are pretty thick and may not fit in the pre cut decking grooves
For my first attempt at installing grooved decking I used plastic coated stainless steel stampings that had offset tabs. The installation looked sloppy and those tabs spaced the boards too far apart. So I ordered the New Tech Fasteners. They seemed perfect but the part that inserts into the grooves was too thick so I had to order a router bit to enlarge the groove. In the mean time, I ordered a similar shape, but smaller plastic coated stainless steel fasteners. They worked very well so I doubt I will use the review subject fasteners. The bottom line is that the supplier of any of these needs to give more dimensions so you don't order useless fasteners.

Not compatible with Gossen brand decking
I struggle with a star value here because I didn't get to try these on a compatible product. Based on the description and reviews I thought these would work for our project using Gossen brand kerfed decking, but they are too thick. And there is no way we were going to either router out all of our decking to make it wider or shave off the extra material on a few hundred of these clips to make them fit. The Trex brand at Home Depot did fit and was available locally, so that's what we ended up using. I was hoping to save a few bucks ordering these, but alas I'll be sending them back for refund.

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH "TufBoard" DECK BOARDS
These fasteners WILL NOT fit "TufBoard" grooved deck boards. The TufBoard groove measures 1/8", the NewTech biscuit is around 3/16", too thick for the "TufBoard" manufactured groove. I've used these fasteners in the past with different deck boards and they were very sturdy, these are the most affordable fasteners on the market. I would definitely recommend these fasteners, but make sure you measure the width of your deck board grooves before purchasing.

Easy to lay
i bought the 4th box today for my Newtechwood composite project. Using the screwing bit came out of the box, laying the boards is easy and fun. There are 15 locking clips in the box. In one of the boxes, those were locking both sides somehow.

Works great with TimberTech boards from lowes.

Not for Trex and mixed items
Definitely not for Trex Select and no easy way to modify. It’s 1/3 starter clips so you don’t get as many connector clips.
