Review of the refurbished Sennheiser HD599SE.I was initially very skeptical about what renewed on amazon meant when it came to headphones. My concerns were put to rest when I got my headphones. It came in perfect condition with original Sennheiser cables and documentaton. It had a very minor scratch on the headband and one of the cups. Other than that, the headphones sounded good as new. The earpads were in mint condition, there was no way to tell whether or not these headphones had a previous owner. What’s more, the headphones have 6 months of warranty from Sennheiser which means that even if this was refurbished, it was done by Sennheiser themselves.Coming to how they sound. These headphones are open back headphones. What that means is that the back of the cup is open to the outside world. Only a metal mesh protects the driver from the outside. You can flash a light through one side of the cup and see it on the other end. This means that outside noise will enter the headphones and everyone around u can hear what you hear. This is a standard downside of any open back headphone. The plus point of this design is that because the sound doesn’t bounce back from the outside walls of the cup, it sounds much more natural, drums actually sound like a real drum being played in a room. There is a fair bit of soundstage in the headphones and intrumental separation. Details and imaging are mind blowing for something that only costs 7,500₹.The headphone is solidly built, it is a full plastic build except for the earpiece grills, which are made of metal. However, plastic isn’t a cost saving feature. It was used for comfort. The headphones are seriously light and are easily the most comfortable pair of headphones I have ever worn. The velour earpads provide for a nice comfortable fit and the clamping force around your head isn’t too tight. Bending and twistingthe headphones causes no creaks and cracking sounds in the body. All in all, the headphone may feel light in the hand and cheap in a way, but it is solidly built and comfortable even if it is all plastic.Coming to the sound signature. Sennheiser stays true to a neutral sound signature for the most part. There is more bass and warmth than I expected for an openback headphone but it is not “Sony Xtra Bass headphones” or “Skullcandy Crushers”. It doesnt boost the bass, it stays true and accurate to how much bass actually exists in the music file, the sub-bass is rolled off like it is on most open-back headphones. The mids are clear, detailed and forward and take the center stage in the mix, this is very typical of Sennheiser. The treble on the headphones is bright and sparkly, but without being overly so, it doesn’t feel like the highs are uncomfortable or are piercing your head. All in all, this is my second Sennheiser headphone because I am a fan of Sennheiser’s signature sound and this headphone stays true to Sennheiser’s mid focused sound signature.Would I recommend this renewed product to anyone? Heck yes! 10/10

Brilliant value, great sound!
I couldn't be any happier. Got this for an absolute steal. A new ivory-coloured one still sells for almost 3 times as much (as of review date). While Sennheiser tends to overprice their products a bit, it's still pretty obvious how incredible the value is of getting this "renewed" one.No issues faced with quality or defects, it came in perfect condition with all accessories (in a simple brown cardboard box, but that's okay). It looks really pretty and durable, and the velour earpads are soft and comfortable.Coming to the actual headphones, it's great as expected from Sennheiser. Just a few weeks of use and I'm hearing details in my favourite songs I had never heard before. While it's not completely flat (and it's not super "sparkly" like many audiophiles prefer), it rather gives out a really pleasant, slightly warm sound that is amazing for stuff like rock and acoustic music. It's open back, so soundstage is pretty good (although don't expect to use this properly in public or noisy environments). No Amps or DACs needed, as long as you have a headphone jack and any decent smartphone/laptop.I also use them for music making and mixing, and while I'd normally recommend not doing that (better to get something meant for the studio like the HD280), it gets the job done quite decently. This easily works as an all-in-one solution for musicians (again, assuming you're mostly by yourself in quieter environments when you use them).

Get it without any questions asked!!
One of the best audiophile cans you can get below 10k. Amazing midrange, good soundstage and epic comfort... Detail, bass and treble are decent too... Got it renewed at 6.5k... Best purchase ever... Comparing it with my ATH M40x, the M40x has a little bit more detail and is bassier, but when it comes to midrange, soundstage and comfort, the HD599SE beats the M40x hands down... Paired with a good DAC/Amp, for long comfortable listening sessions, it's a must buy... It's definitely the entry ticket to the Audiophile world...PS : Packaging was excellent, the cans were like brand new and everything was included in the box except for the 6.3-3.5mm converter... Kudos to the seller for that...

Just a fantastic headphone. Tremendous value for money as I got it under 7000 rs refurbished.
Got it refurbished under 7000 rs and received the product in good condition. Totally satisfied . Coming to the headphone, it's definitely an upgrade to senn hd598se which I had earlier. Headphone sits on the head comfortably without putting undue stress. Bass response is beefier than earlier and mids have the original Sennheiser signature. Soundstage improved a bit and movies come to life even more. Music listening is a charm and i can listen to them for long hours as sound never gets fatigued.
