Gives enough light
I use it as a porch light. Installed last October and haven't changed it out yet. Not real bright but gives out enough light. These were pretty pricey but they are worth it. Screws in just like a regular light bulb. Most times I forget to turn the light out in the morning but it's still going. Been almost a year. It's a soft purple glow.

Verify the intensity of the light that you need!
Steady light emission, but not terribly strong output. Adequate for what I purchased them for, which was to emit light from the UV band that aids hydrogen peroxide in whitening yellowed plastic. That said, I did need to use both lights and point them more directionally than I had anticipated. Price was great, heat level was very low - which was good for me. If you’re using them to illuminate a room that you’re trying to accentuate color in, best get an extra set for anything larger than around 10x10.

Working perfectly for a bug trap to catch tomato horn worm moths.
I can't rate the longivity, because I've only had it for a few weeks. Working perfectly for my home made bug trap, which is just a shaded bulb suspended over a pan of soapy water. The insects see the reflection of the light in the wate and dive right in. The soap breaks the surface tension so they can't fly out. Most insect traps have too small an opening to allow the big moths in. Plus this is silent.

works like old school black lights!
we used this in a haunted house, room with black light reactive paints.... this did not get hot like old black light bulbs do, so its very safe. it made the paint glow just like the old school lights that heat up and cost so much. white really glows and glow in the dark paint also reacted well to this. we bought more right away! love these. safe alternative to the kind that heat up! i do recommend. see my photo of fish wall of reactive paints.
