A book worth having in your home library.
I have been fortunate while in my military career to have visited the Hermitage . I can say that if you want to have a reference book to show you perhaps the finest musuem in the world. This book will not disappoint.

Great Art and Great Buildings
A sumptuous and colorful overview of one of the world's greatest art museums. Charlie Rose's tour and interview with its general director piqued my interest to see and know more. This book is a fitting and fairly brief tour of the museum's great rooms and its peerless collections. Bravo!

Nice book!
Love it! Mostly for the beautiful cover and the Hermitage topic itself. Really worth it if you love Hermitage or you want to know the masterpiece, mainly paintings and structures, in Hermitage.

Excellent if you don't have the two-volume set
This is a beautiful book filled with gorgeous photos of items from the Hermitage's vast holdings. The only problem is, it's a selection from the larger, two-volume set that Rizzoli published a few years ago. If you have the larger work, as I do, this contains nothing new. If you don't have the larger work, this is an excellent value and worth five stars. If you're primarily interested in paintings, be aware that paintings are about half of the objects pictured.

Beautiful. Worth every penny.
Beautiful book. Shows so many pieces of art that you can’t see at the museum.

A glorious picture book
The pictures are wonderful. But without explantion, I had no idea what much of it was. It is an excellent visual record, which is all it purports to be. I will go elsewhere to learn about the collections.
