Was good as new. Very pleased. Good sound. Was apprehensive about having a clear screen, but very clear. So far, very pleased. It was for my 10 yo grandson, & so far, he hasn't put it down.

If something is too good to be true.... Anyway, like a lot of people here, I owned a Gameboy as a kid and I have fond memories. I played with the idea of buying all of the games I used to own. When I saw an original Gameboy in great condition for just $30, I jumped on it! I've been dealing with Amazon for probably a decade as never had a problem until this purchase. First, instead of the console, I received a book. I complained and asked for a refund but, before that happened, a Gameboy actually arrived. It looked great and I was happy. I even sent the seller a thank you email. Then, I turned it on. It doesn't work. I never thought it possible. A Nintendo Gameboy console that didn't work?!? I've seen these things survive house fires. My own Gameboy worked despite having Coca Cola somehow get between the screen and the screen cover. Yet, here I am. $30 short with a broken device I paid good money for. The console itself is great. 4/5 stars. It's these shady online seller that are the problem. I even looked up the address on Google maps. It was just some guy's home.

I bought this to mod so I was not as concerned about the quality so when I bought this and tore it apart I could not believe my eyes it wasn’t in good condition it was in superb condition everything was as clean as a whistle these people obviously sales a good product especially for a 1989 Nintendo? I would assume there would be some kind of dust or missing parts something but there wasn’t I am VERY happy with this purchase if your looking for a game boy buy from them. The color of the shell was a little off and the writing on the front was faded but to be expected for a game system over 30 years old. I’m buying another one from them soon and have no problem recommending them and personally want to thank them

Gentlemen, I wrote it up to five stars because I know these are good little machines (my daughter had one) and I put batteries in it and heard the sound. so that is ok. but since I don't know how to work it, I did not try a game (I still had a Mario game my daughter played with). soooo, that being said, i'm sure the recipient will LOVE it. if not, I will get back to the seller. but I don't think i'll need to do that :) thank you for asking. well, it is now Christmas Day 2016, and the Gameboy in question leaves a lot to be desired. the screen is barely visible so the recipient couldn't play on it. :( please let me know what my next step is ???

When I received this Gameboy, it looked clean, exactly what you would expect from a refurbished product. When I tried to play a game, I found that the left and right directional buttons did not work. No problem--I just opened it up to wipe down the connectors with some iso alcohol. That was when I noticed that the screen was suffering from significant pixel leak. I cleaned the connectors and membrane, and the system works fine now, but that screen is doomed. I plan on modding this Gameboy, so it's no big deal for me, but for someone looking for something to play on, buyer beware.
