Great little travel/emergency/sleep cage for our small parrots.
We bought 2 of these carrier cages, and are very pleased with them. The carriers arrived at our door in less than 72 hours (several days ahead of the estimated delivery date), and they were packaged very well. The sections go together easily, and the latch assembly and hinges come already installed on the door. I also love that there are no gaps/cracks anywhere on the carrier that could allow a bird to get a toe caught, and the bar spacing is perfect for most species of small/intermediate parrots. We did need to tighten the hinges on one of the cages to level the door, but that was a simple fix.Pictures don't do these carriers justice; the finish is beautiful and when you pull that first section out of the box it shouts *quality*. Once assembled, the carrier feels solid; not the rickety/shaky feel that some carriers have. The bar thickness is similar to the bar thickness on a wrought iron cage, and the bronze color we ordered is more like a rich dark brown. The built in magnet, and the spring action latch are a couple nice features that give the door a solid feel when closed, and should keep the door from rattling while driving down the road. Another big plus is how light these carriers are! I'm a senior, with a trick shoulder, and a challenged back, yet I can easily lift the carrier for transport--even with the arm that is attached to a bad shoulder. :)Initially we were hesitant to order the carriers after reading reviews elsewhere online regarding the lack of a grate, and because the tray could tilt to the inside of the cage if the carrier was accidentally knocked over. The tray sits on a wide lip which goes around the bottom of the carrier, and when the tray tilts in--which is how the tray comes out for cleaning--it does create a gap which could allow a bird to escape. However, the tray is sturdy and rests securely in the carrier, so if one is careful and doesn't allow the carrier to fall over, there should not be a problem. On that note, we wanted extra peace of mind for outdoor excursions/travel so came up with our own solution to assure the tray stayed put if something unexpected happened; and without needing to drill into the frame to make modifications. We ordered the little wooden toy wheels sold on Amazon that are safe for making bird toys. Check out Amazon for the "Darice 9119-58 Big Value Natural Unfinished Wood Toy Wheel, 1-1/2-Inch". There are cheaper wooden wheels available, but we opted to pay a bit more to have bird safe quality. My husband then went to a local hardware store and purchased stainless steel washers, bolts, and wing nuts for mounting a wheel on each of the four sides. They can be raised/removed when not in use, and lowered/added to secure the tray when needed. The wheels are only 1/2" thick, so don't take up much space in the interior, and they're cute so we plan on leaving them installed. If our parrots chew them up, will just change out the wheel(s).We are using these carriers as sleeping cages; it gives us peace of mind knowing that in an emergency (as in a fire) we can quickly grab our feathered-kids and leave. The carriers will also be used for travel as well as yard visits, and with the tray secured (as described above) we won't have to be as concerned about the safety of our feathered-kids. We're also thrilled with how quickly both our parrots took to these carriers; way faster than they have with any of the others. If you have a small/intermediate parrot and want a small, lightweight carrier, do not hesitate to purchase this product because as noted above--there is a way to secure the tray if you need that added peace of mind.

Perfect
I purchased the small version of this travel cage in blue for my Noble Macaw, Molly. she is a mini macaw and is the size of a large conure like a Blue Crown. She has a long tail which this cage accommodates when the perch is placed midway up. This cage would be too small for a larger mini macaw such as an Illiger or Severe. The bar spacing is fine for a Green Cheek but may be too widely spaced for a cockatiel who could put his head through. It is lightweight and snaps together easily. I recommend getting your bird used to it by feeding treats inside so that when you need to use it, your bird will be relaxed. Living in Northern California and seeing the devastation of the latest round of wildfires and hearing about how little time people had to jump in their cars and evacuate, I decided that it was time for me to get organized about evacuation provisions for me and my pets. This cage can be stored flat and easily snapped together when needed. The issue that is reported by some customers concerning the fact that the bottom tray can be pushed up has been corrected by the King's Cage company. The cage is now perfect, beautiful, made with precision and well priced on Amazon. I am so impressed with this cage that I will be purchasing one for my Green Cheek Conure as well.

Perfect for your parrot!
You will not find a nicer travel cage than this IMO. Our eclectus parrot loves his travel cage and he has no problems sitting in there and crawling around. He will even crawl around upside down like he does in his big cage. It's not a lot of room in there but it is a travel cage and just enough for him. The aluminum makes it so light that we take him for walks i just pick up the cage with him in it and off we go. We went to the beach and had a great time taking him along he got to see all the wild life on the beach and all the other birds it was pretty neat. Could not have even thought about doing that without this cage and he felt safe the entire time. May not be the cheapest travel cage but a very high quality product.

Best quality Bird Travel Cage (Pros, cons, & suggestions)
Basically designed for medium size and large size birds. Pros: sturdy construction, still relatively light. bird is well secured in this cage. No wobbling noisy.Cons: Perch is somewhat big for green cheek conure (small parrot). Baby bird(still learning) with trimmed nails might have hard time staying straight on the round wooden perch. I replaced the inside perch with weaved perch, which I made with thick rope winding around. Now bird has firm grip.improvement to be made: Bottom plate is not locked in the position and is easy to come off. It needs to be secured.Suggestion: I placed this cage in passenger side while driving. Later I noticed my bird had chewed on leather back seat through the bar space. Ever since then I place a thick card board paper behind the cage. Height is raised with a empty box underneath the cage. My bird truly enjoys being in the passenger seat while I am driving.

I didn't know if this would be a good product because it had so few reviews and was not fulfilled by amazon but am I glad I took a chance on this item! This is an awesome carrier, I assembled it easily in less than 10 minutes, it seems sturdy and is lightweight.I agree with the other reviewers about the tray. I only have budgies so I doubt they could tip over the tray, but I wish they had made a slot instead of just a ledge to lay the tray on. Otherwise, this is a great travel cage.

Drastically overpriced
It's a solid little cage that I can't see how it could comfortably hold anything larger than an African Grey. No floor grate, which should be mandatory. Other buyers have fashioned their own, but at the price this cages sells for, it should be included. A fair price for this cage would be $60-$75.
