Handy OBD Tool for BMW Owners, Worth It Despite the Price
I bought this Veepeak OBDCheck BLE mainly for my BMW 2 Series, and it’s been a great experience so far. The setup was quick and hassle-free, it connected instantly via Bluetooth, and I was able to code and check diagnostics smoothly using the Bimmer app. The connection stays stable, which is crucial when working with car electronics. The build quality feels solid, and I appreciate that it comes in a sturdy plastic box, which keeps it safe when not in use. The device itself is small, lightweight, and easy to carry around, so it’s perfect to keep in the glove box. Speed is fine it takes 2-3 minutes to code when plugged and read the data efficiently. It is compatible with my BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. The only downside for me is the price, it feels a bit on the expensive side for such a compact tool. But considering how well it works and how reliable the connection has been, I think it’s worth it if you want peace of mind when diagnosing or coding your BMW. Would I recommend it? Yes, especially if you want a reliable OBD scanner that just works without fuss.

Quality product
The Win10 setup to enable Com port connection via Bluetooth took a minute or ten but the this OBD reader worked a treat. Managed to read and reset error codes on my Grand Cherokee CRD. This device works really well and interfaces with diagnostic software smoothly.

Does the job for my Range Rover Velar
For the price, it’s a fantastic little tool. Connects first time, easy to read and clear codes. Just wish I could do a little more like programming batteries to cars etc. Guess I’ll just have to spend a little more to be a forced RR ‘mekanic’.

Easy to use and reassuring when diagnosing issues
This tool works well. It connects quickly and reads my vehicle’s data without any issues. I used it while dealing with a cooling system problem, and it gave me peace of mind by showing that the engine temperature was stable. Simple, reliable, and very useful to have on hand for basic checks.

WILL NOT CONNECT
Would not connect. I tried this device on two different vehicles, a Landrover Freelander 2 and a Smart for two. On each occasion the blue light came on but I could not connect to either vehicle using the recommended iOS App. After the first vehicle failed I deleted the App and reinstalled it to try the second. Same result. The phone (iPhone 17 pro running latest software) did not show the WiFi signal supposedly created by the device but did show a Bluetooth signal. So no idea what is going on here, maybe the device is faulty? Returning for a refund.

Works great with my iPhone 16Pro running iOS 26.3 and 26.2.1. Just used this morning with Carista app on iPhone customizing my 4Runner settings. Haven’t tried on iPad yet. One app took a long time to connect but finally did “car scanner elm obd2”. Not sure why though. But it works great after it connects and lots of customization abilities in free version, surprising! But great.

Summary: This little thing just diagnosed a valve issue the dealer missed and even the VANOS system of my new Mini missed. It comes with a storage case, feels well made, easy to connect and will work with very well with BMW group, VW group and Toyota cars as I have used it with those products. Story: Got a mini countryman a few days ago, and whilst it's been a great daily driver, and the test drive made me love the car's handling and speed, their reputation for how unreliable they can be is something i've always been aware of. Fast forward to 3 weeks into the ownership: I start to notice the exhaust tips become black due to soot buildup. Then I start to question why I have been refiling the tank so much despite my aggressive driving. Anyways, I buy this product and start looking at the error codes and checking common issues with those codes on mini forums. Seems like fuel's mixture is too rich and the engine cannot correct itself. So before heading to the dealer, I use the Bluetooth scanner to export all the proof I have in case I need to get the insurance company involved. One trip to the dealer later, I ask for an inspection, I paid for an extended warranty on the car. They tell me that if I ask for an inspection and they find nothing, the costs are on me. Not a problem, this product had me knowing something was wrong. After the inspection, the mechanic tells me it's an air intake valve that needs to be replaced due to carbon buildup. Total costs of 2700 plus tax which the dealer of course tries to split with me. Conclusion: This little gadget allowed me to return that 20k car before my return period was over and even made it possible to export proof of the issues of my mini to my computer, which allowed me to get all my cash back and avoid owning a lemon.

This is a great portable little gadget. I bought this to diagnose an intermittent issue that my car was having with weak starts and stalling. Two mechanics couldn't figure it out and when I plugged this in, it indicated a communciation issue with the ABS system in my car. A big part of why I bought this was that many other OBD scanners only check engine codes, but not other systems like ABS. If it only scanned the engine (which had no codes), I wouldn't have been able to work out the cause of my intermittent issues. It connects reliably to the car and my iPhone and comes with a little plastic case to keep in the glovebox.
