TL;DR - buy it! It is really worth it if you have a special someone who likes his/her coffee. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a coffee snob. Truly - I will drink any and every coffee in front of me. But my husband works from home and he really cares about coffee, cheese, chocolate - all the good stuff :) Driftaway’s tasting kit includes four different coffees with four very different profiles (fruity, classic, bold, and balanced), designed to help you identify what coffees best suits your palette. Given his love of coffee, I thought I would I would buy the gift for him for Father’s Day. I thought he’d enjoy trying them out, and I was right! You can rate each of the coffees and add your own personal tasting notes for future reference. From these ratings, Driftaway will select your future shipments to your taste preferences. After a few days of tasting these coffees, my husband is hooked! What made the experience fun for me is with each bag of coffee, Driftaway provides full tasting notes, notes on the origin of the coffee, and the story of the farmers who grew the beans. Each coffee had a story! The morning cup of coffee was no longer just a kick-in-the-butt to jumpstart the day, it had some meaning!

My best friend loves her morning coffee, so when I saw this, I had to get it for her! (for Xmas) Not only did it ship SUPER fast, but when she opened the first box, it was like a never ending box of coffee goodies! The packaging was great, ready to go as a gift, my friend was so excited when she opened it! I really like the idea that future boxes will be customized to her flavor preferences. She's a die-hard dark roast girl, and I like a light-med. roast. She always drinks my coffee when she's over, maybe this will help her realize, that she is in fact, a medium roast girl...

Coffee was excellent flavor! Disappointed that it didn’t come each month for three months as described.

I’ve tried so many roasters from amazon and I keep coming back to Driftaway. They are my favorite by far. Feels like they really nail each roast. I’ve bought their single bags many times (I’m afraid of committing to a subscription - don’t want to be tied down into one). Ended up buying a gift for my brother who wanted to get into gourmet coffee. He’s loving it so far. Happy to see Driftaway on Amazon!

I've tried many freshly roasted coffees and this is certainly among the best. I've only tried the tasting kit so far, bit for each coffee the smell was wonderful and I could taste most of the notes. I only didn't give it 5 stars because one of them - the Peruvian - did seem to be of lower quality. But there overall idea is great and really useful for those who may not know which coffees they like best. Look forward to my first bag of beans.

Bought this for a friend who loves coffee, and so far they love it. Package looks nice, shipped fast and delivered quickly. The person who I bought this gift for was intrigued by tasting kit concept (not new for wine etc, but may be new in coffee?). Either way, happy with purchase so far. Will update once they get to try the coffee.

Only received our first sample package - bought a 3 month subscription

I like the company and their coffee. They make it very easy to do a subscription and the coffee is good. But here's the thing to remember: the sampler counts as a shipment. So if you pay for a 3 month supply, you really are only getting 2. The sampler sends you 4 2oz bags. 2oz is hardly large enough to brew and make decisions. Especially because I am using it in an espresso machine. If I don't grind it right, tamp it right and brew it right, it is a waste. But what's more, when you buy the subscription, it says 16oz a month. It just seems a little deceptive that it isn't really a pound a month. Granted, they do state it on the website, but still... The sampler shouldn't count as a shipment. It's lame that it does.
