Twenty Big Trucks in the Middle of the Street

I purchased this book for my 16 month old grandson for Christmas. He is obsessed with trucks of all kinds. This is a beautifully illustrated book about an ice- cream truck that breaks down and this causes a traffic jam of trucks of all kinds. The ensuing chaos is comical and gives children the opportunity to problem solve.. How can this mess be fixed? Children love the rhyming text and the large and vivid truck illustrations. It is an added bonus for children that the little boy on the bike figures out how to solve the problem. My grandson asks my daughter to read this to him more than several times a day. I highly recommend this wonderful book.

My kids love this book! We purchased it in 2014 when they were 3 & 1. Two years later & they still enjoy it and ask for it often! The story rhymes and keeps young children hooked on what will happen next. The illustrations are fun because there's a diverse set of characters who gather to see the pileup of trucks. Since we babywear, my kids were excited to see that represented in the group, albeit with a puppy in the carrier. I laughed at the illustration of someone taking a photo of the scene with their cell phone, because that's totally me. Their favorite part (see my 5yos attached illustrated review!) is when the crane truck saves the day and lifts the ice cream truck into the sky. My kids have this book and the order the trucks get stuck memorized we read it so much. Highly recommended for any little truck lovers in your life!

If your child loves trucks, this is a fantastic book! While the story is cute, the illustrations make the book. You could spend quite some time just looking at and pointing out all of the details on each page! Like the people on top of the buildings, or the truck drivers and bystanders. It is good for learning counting to 20! I also like the fact that all of the kids on bicycles wear helmets :)Our son is 2 and he really likes this book. While this is not my favorite book to read as a parent (as far as the story goes), the illustrations in this book are probably some of my favorites! Ice cream trucks, mail trucks, garbage trucks, cranes, delivery trucks, trucks carrying pigs....this book has them all!

My kids, who are now older, loved this book so we bought this as a gift knowing that it will be well loved!

My 20 month old twins LOVE this book. It has all types of trucks, and on one page it has 20 of them. My kids love everything that moves and I had never imagined that even a garbage truck can be so interesting!!! My kids are learning words now and can point to each type of truck and say "budoder" for "bulldozer", "tetete miter" for "cement mixer", "tattoo" for "tractor", and so on. It is really cute! I love this book and am very happy with my purchase.

My son ate and breathed books about “big things that go” as a young child. Now he’s a father and this booked appeared appealing for both he and his son. I had it shipped across country sight unseen a couple years ago. My grandson’s favorite book, 20 Trucks in the Middle of the Road by Mark Lee, has now been read out loud at least 2,000 times according to my son. Here’s your chance to gift your grandchild that special comfort bestowing book that their parent will get to read aloud a few thousand times.

My almost 2 year old son LOVES this book. We first found it at our library and he loved it so much, I had to buy it for him. I love the sturdy board book so I don't have to worry about ripped pages. There are great illustrations of the trucks and a nice story. From an adult perspective, I think the "solution" of the 20 big trucks being stuck in the street could have been more easily solved with putting the ice cream truck in neutral and having a couple strong guys push it, but what fun would that be? haha.

We first got this book when my oldest son was 18 months old, 4 years later this is still a favorite and our younger son (2 years old) also requests this book daily. I’ve read it so many times I have it memorized at this point and will recite it in the car while my older son flips the pages. It’s that beloved in this house!

My 2 year old and I love this book. We borrowed it twice from the library, read it dozens of times, and still couldn’t get enough.

He leído tantas veces este libro a mí hijo que me lo sé de carrerilla. Se lo compramos con dos años porque le fascinan los camiones y fue mucho tiempo su favorito y lo leíamos todas las noches. Ahora tiene tres años y medio y se ha cansado un poco pero todavía lo leemos de vez en cuando.Trata sobre un atasco de camiones y un niño que lo observa todo lo va contando. Las rimas a veces un pelín forzadas pero está bien y los dibujos también.

My 14 month old son LOVES this book. Perfect for any toddlers who are obsessed with vehicles!

I love this fun book. There are so many things to look at on each page which means there are many ways of reading and teaching your child without him/her even realizing it. I think my dear little grand-nephew and mum and dad will have fun reading this book and involving our little guy in it.

Total favourite of my son and me. Well written and illustrated. Love this story!
