I was enthusiastically un-disappointed! It turns out that The Neighborhood as made a few popular songs that I like and didn't realize where by them. But the reason for my five-star rating is really that this album is exceptional. Only twice have I ever listened to an album and found no clunkers in the bunch. "I Love You" is the third. I don't presume to be a music critic, but I know when I hear fantastic music, and this is it. No kidding, I will find myself listening to this album and sort of zoning out and wondering how they composed something so complex that sounds so unique and is not only good, but almost hypnotic. I think it's got something to do with the strong base line, the really great vocals and the way this music seems to bridge Euro-pop, r&b and house music. The way the songs are sung (like the cadence of the singer[s]) is so different. It's got a rhythmic quality that reminds me faintly of Phoenix. The delivery is excellent. This album is great. It's something I'd recommend to anyone with a great sound-system. This is great music for a house party, a Friday night out-with-friends thing, or just riding in the car. I think you'll especially like this album if you like any music by The Neighborhood. This is for people who like r&b, pop/rock, European pop/rap, dance music and people who either make music or take their listening seriously. Review: New Favorite Indie Pop Band - Indie...check! Great songs...check! Great music...check! Feel-good feeling...check! I purchased this CD -- it's been so long since I've done that, thanks to downloading individual songs from iTunes or desertcart -- and I do not regret it. The whole CD is really good. My favorite song of course is "Sweater Weather," which has been my ringtone since March. First heard their music, or that particular song, on Pandora and fell in love. Their music is feel-good. Makes you wanna drive down a road on a clear day in your car with a couple of friends with The Neighborhood's songs as the soundtrack. Much like the music video for "Sweater Weather" and their promos for the album. The Neighbourhood's sound is casual, yet relaxing from lead singer Jesse Rutherford's vocals. Their style is cool too, very California-esque. Also, their music videos are all black & white and the band, itself, give off that '50s style from clothes to hair. Their music is like a blend of Alternative with R&B flair and Rock. Songs like "Let It Go" and "W.D.Y.W.F.M?" are reminiscent of a bit of hip-hop and R&B. 11 songs total and worth it. Can play it on repeat. Great album, "I Love You," I love it.

Fantastic.
A little bit of twist here, to me it sounds like 90's Brit Pop-ish sounds of Manchester and that sort, similar type of emotions, mixed in with modern tricks and hooks, but you'd never expect something this unique to come out of Newbury Park, California! Awesome. I'm amazed how great it sounds, totally fresh, alive, out front, honest, real, classic live-studio sound with excellent instrumentation with nice studio remix for the effects, and just a great, fresh sound, and great songwriting. The vocals are perfect, and just the right amount of effects laden over the subtle modern indie-type rock. If this band can carry on like this, they might be the one, if you know what I mean. Brilliant.

Interesting
It's rare when a good song you pick-up from the radio leads to a good overall album. The Neighborhood bring an interesting blend of ethereal atmospheric sound-scapes with raw r&b style vocals. It seems inevitable that the radio will abuse your ears with "Sweater Weather", the albums first single, but rest assured their are several other good tracks from I Love You that will equally hold your attention such as: W.D.Y.W.F.M? and the introspective opening track How. This pop sensible album has hit it's mark with a full album experience, rare for the 20-teens.

I <3 The Neighbourhood
With their addictive debut single, "Sweater Weather", The Neighbourhood welcomed us into the darkly transcendent dance of love. Now 'I Love You.' their first full-length album continues this journey of youthful self-reflection. "Alleyways", my new favorite track, laments 'we didn't want to get older' while reminiscing over the fun had and increasing responsibility of growing up. The fear of being replaced provides "Afraid" motivation to strive hard to hold on to dreams and relationships. The self-conscious "Everybody's Watching Me (Uh Oh)" and the unremitting 'remember what the people said/when its said and done/"Let It Go"' capture our frailties. Whether you want to chill out while lying on a candlelit bedroom floor or get your groove thing on the dance floor, this album is versatile enough for all moods. There's not a bad song in the bunch.

The cd itself is a little bit damaged… Edit: I thought it was damaged but it’s just the sign of the label! Everything is fine!!
