A Wild Ride: The Adventures of Misty & Moxie Wyoming Paperback – April 24, 2015

What a read! This book may be marketed for 6-11-year-olds, but I found it just as enjoyable a read as if it were for adults.Fast-paced, thrilling, and engaging! This story was well-written, with clear plot points and character development that made it easy to follow along with. With beautiful descriptions and exciting content, the lessons throughout the book are subtle and well worth the read. This book really is a great read for children and adults alike.I look forward to seeing these characters progress and grow as the series grows--maybe even evolve into a children's TV series?? Misty and Moxie are such great companions for each other and have such a unique relationship. I can really see that translating well to the screen. I think kids will be able to relate to this tale and crave more stories from Niki Danforth.

This book is such a cute read. The language in it is perfectly suited for the age levels given and if you’re willing to read out loud, it would likely easily be understood by younger children too.I appreciated the illustrations throughout the book. Each chapter has a black and white picture that helps bring the story to life and make it more fun to read. This should help keep children wanting to turn the pages as they graduate from fully-illustrated books.The story itself is also engaging, sure to interest anyone who likes horses or a touch of mystery. I liked how the author included the real life story of Misty and Moxie Wyoming in the back and some additional information about mustangs and grizzlies. It’s definitely a great book to gift a child!

A fun adventure for any young reader. I loved how Misty would become young and able to do magical things whenever Moxie rides her with the pink boots. Very cute and a great mystery book.

Moxie Wyoming Woodson is an animal-loving 10 year old growing up on her parents' ranch. She idolizes her rodeo queen great-grandmother and longs to have her own horse to ride and train. She receives one, but to her disappointment, it is an aged, bow-backed mare named Misty. However, as Moxie and Misty get to know one another, it becomes clear that this horse has more intelligence and ability than the average old gray mare. Moxie and her best friend Pickle stumble upon a plot to illegally trap wild mustangs--a herd that she and Misty have started to befriend. It's up to Misty and Moxie to undermine the scheme and protect the herd--with the help of a magic whistle and some special pink cowboy boots.A Wild Ride is a fun, middle-grade novel, neither too simplistic or too slow-paced for readers in the upper elementary school grades. Moxie is a likable character who evades most of the precocious heroine cliches--she's gutsy but also tender-hearted and, like most kids, can occasionally be a bit demanding. At the end of the book, the author has included some information about the real-life inspirations for the story, which adds another layer of significance to an already enjoyable tale.

I live in Wyoming's flat open plains . and I am always looking for a books about rodeos cowgirls , and horses . This book matched my description perfectly ! It is a great book for any girl who likes horses , lives horses or reads boks about horses . The story takes place in Wyoming . And all the i nformation is correct . It is a real page flipper as you read Moxie Wyoming's story as she meets some great friends ,Pickle , Mrs.Frontier days ,Dizzy Humpfrey ,A group of bad guys ,and last b ut certainly not least Misty her trusty mare. The story all starts when Moxie meets misty thinking of her as an old run down horse but soon descovers she she is mutch more as misty helps moxie meet dizzy and stop a gang of bad guys atempting an illegal mustang round up .Thrilling story for any girl .

Moxie and Misty are the ideal playmates. Every little girl's dream is to have a horse and this one is very special. The book has just the right amount of adventure and learning about various animals, not just horses. Moxie is a great role model for young adults, as she exemplifies very positive character qualities.

I read this book to my seven year old daughter at bedtime. We both enjoyed the story and look forward to reading about more adventures with Misty and Moxie Wyoming!

When I gave my 9 year old granddaughter this book I wasn't sure she would even read it. She had spent some time with horses so maybeshe would enjoy this story about Moxie and her old black horse Misty. She found it very exciting with mustangs, bad guys and a mysterious package that contained magical pink boots and a silver whistle. She really got in to Misty and Moxie's adventure of rescuing a herd of wild mustangs.
