Age of Extinction Grimlock One-Step Changer

Despite my initial impressions this appears to be a great toy. It does feel kind of cheap, but this is due to the materials used. My little guy loves these toys. We bought 4 and only had issues with one of them (I had the issue not my kid). Grimlock is transformed via turning his legs out. With other transformer toys I had to change the robots between modes, but not with these. My little guy was shown once and was off and running. Despite my reservations, barring abuse, these toys should continue to hold up well.

Perfect for the little boy who loves both dinosaurs and transformers. He plays with it constantly ... along with that running dialogue that 4-year-olds are famous for. If you want to see your little one enjoying his toy so much that he has to talk your ears off while playing with it, get him this.

So Kool! One step perfect. Smaller than I thought Grimlock would be. But he's a keeper. For a size perspective see picture. Grimlock is a bit shiny because I use food grade mineral oil on them. If your giving to a child, oil is non toxic. I used on all my Transformers. A tiny drop on joints helps a lot.

Bought this for my cousin's son last year and it came in chinese packaging. The picture on the product is different as it looks more official in american hasbro packaging. I was very upset and it was too late to get a new gift before it was last minute. I don't know how this has so many good reviews because the pictures do not look like what I had received.

Recently applied a review to this by mistake... it was meant for another item in the box. My son picked this out and we had to check amazon for the shipping status every day!! He absolutely loves it!!

This transformer is definitely pretty cool and my kids (5.5 and 3.5) really loved it right out of the box. It's much better and more fun than the tank one I also bought. The trouble is that a leg and arm fell off in less than a month. They still think it's fun to play with, but well-made toys don't break that easily or quickly.

My husband upon seeing this toy for the first time said "You're kidding right? They make it look so much bigger on the commercials". I think it's a fine size but I guess having watched the commercials with my son, he was expecting it to be bigger. Nevertheless, my 4 year-old son loves it and can easily transform him in one motion. Big hit as my son hasn't put it down and won't even let us try it out! Update 6/27/14: So, I saw the commercial myself that my husband was referring to. The toy looked sooo much bigger that I thought perhaps I ordered the wrong thing. After searching some more on Amazon, I discovered there are 2 Grimlock transformers, one is 9.5 inches, one (the one we purchased) is 6 inches. Explains why we expected bigger but doesn't explain why the toy company didn't specify this/alert customers. Still happy with toy and my son has finally lost is grip on it and let us try it out :)

For a 1-step transformer, there is a lot of detail. It is smaller than I thought it would be but overall it's a great toy and my son loves it. I would recommend it.
