Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 Review: One of My Favorite Movies - Do not buy this game expecting to control a character for extended periods of time. The best way to describe this game (and any Metal Gear Solid game for that matter) is that it's an interactive movie. It is a story driven game. That being said, this is a fantastic movie. If you haven't played any other Metal Gear Solid games, I highly recommend you do so before buying this game. The story of this game is mind-boggling enough as it is. I can't imagine playing through this game without having played at least one of the previous three titles. It would still be somewhat understandable, but you would miss SO much. I can't go into much detail about the story, but just trust that it is epic. If you don't trust me, look at any video game review site, and this will be ranked as one of the best PS3 titles. For a game that makes you watch cut scenes more than it lets you play the game, that's really impressive. The gameplay is enjoyable as well, but it really shouldn't be the reason you buy this game, and it isn't the reason this game has such good reviews. The less-than-20-hour game is split about half and half into gameplay and cut scenes, and the gameplay is split about half and half between stealth and action. For the stealth parts, you are generally trying to get from point A to point B without being spotted. For the action parts, you are generally fighting a (weird) boss with your myriad of weapons. However, the boss battles sometimes incorporate some stealth into the mix, and the stealth parts obviously require some gunmanship if you get spotted. It's also worth mentioning that the game is played entirely in the third-person. As I mentioned earlier, the cut scenes are of the highest caliber. The controller vibrates ever so slightly when your character, Snake, is touched on the shoulder. There are incredibly long scenes involving character development, such as the recurring scenes that depict a little girl trying so hard to cook eggs correctly, but failing to do so until a friend helps her out. And the ending of the game is more intense than most movies I've seen. So in short, this is a great game and even a better movie. If you own a PS3, you need to buy this game. Review: Bought As A Replacement Copy - Great Game. I was devastated by a loss of 5 of my games when I had to leave my dorm and was unable to return for Spring Semester. I replaced this and GOW3. Still has replay ability after all these years. The Octocamo is still unrivaled in terms of stealth. This game is still Groundbreaking and one of the best Games to Date. I'm a big Playstation fan and I love their exclusives and tend to buy all my games on this platform but I think next I'm going to invest in a Headset and larger HD I still have an 80GB PS3. MGS4 Great game Def worth buying Recommended games Batman: Arkham City, Call of Duty MW3, Uncharted 3, God of War 3, Resistance 3, Heavy Rain, Assassin's Creed 2, Killzone 2, Infamous 2,Uncharted 2, LA Noire, Red Dead Redemption (Game of the Year Edition if you haven't already bought it), Final Fantasy XIII Battlefield 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops ,and Mass Effect 2

Pure Awesomnesss!
This was the first video game I've ever played for the PS3 system, and let me tell you it's AWESOME! The controls were easy to handle, the graphics were amazing, and the story was phenomenal! This game is NOT to be underestimated. It's one of the best games you can play for this system. Don't rob yourself of this opportunity and BUY THIS GAME!!! Two things you need to keep in mind, though. 1. Make sure you have at least 1-2 hours to play the game. The cutscenes are long, and you need them to understand the game. Don't let this turn you off. It's like watching the movie. 2. I've never played the multiplayer. I haven't because the update patch seems to be taking a while to download (I have a feeling it's more that 4gb) so I canceled. My internet is slow (1mbps) so I guess it's my fault. Happy gaming!!!

I played MGS4....Now everything else just sucks
Title pretty much sums up my feelings. MGS4 is and probably always will be the best stealth action game of all time. There is simply no half way here. Kojima has finally perfected his 3D world that he started with Metal Gear Solid. Every area has more thought put into it than most full-length games for sale out now. The story wraps up the franchise in a unique and thought-provoking manner. Oh? What's this? You have a problem with complex, moving stories that encompass the faults and triumphs of human behavior? I pity the fool that would bash this game for its cut scenes. There is only one con of this game: after you play it, you'll look at your other games and just sit there wishing they were as cool. Buy it, Play it, LOVE IT<3

if you are "thinking" about getting this game then think no longer. I have ALL the Metal Gear Games and i have to say this one is amazing. slightly different from what your used to from other Metal Gears but deffinatly makes it more exciting. Yes the rumors of long cut scenes are true but it doesnt ruin the game in any way i think. 5*'s 10/10

Being a die hard fan of the Metal Gear Series i consider this final installment to be a near perfect game! Tying up the loose ends left on the previous titles, the story of Solid Snake comes to a closure with an EPIC BANG!

I really love this game, cause all the thing inside this game are perfect, no matter the story and music and the presentation, Ima sure about that everyone will play MGS4 again and again even though you never touch the MGS1---3 before.

I had the first disc I bought replaced because it froze in one of the advanced levels - very frustrating when you've spent so much time advancing through the game. The second disc did exactly the same! It's rubbish and shouldn't be allowed to be sold. I wouldn't advise this to anyone.
