Gritty Action Low Spice
Love the opening of this series. Regan is a gritty bounty hunter working in new orleans in the rougher but magical areas of town. She loves a little crazy, cynical, run at it w her sword and see what happens kind of gal. She has a huge secret but is trying to lay low. An issue happens putting her on the radar of the wears, the images, and the vampires. A love interest is there as a potiental...but it's more of an uneasy alliance. Great action and magic. Humorous and good side characters.

Remarkable read. Urban Fantasy fans will enjoy.
Born in Fire is book one in the Fire and Ice Trilogy by K.F. Breene. This is my fist taste of K.F. Breene. I’ve had the Fire and Ice Trilogy on my TBR for a while now and I’m so glad I picked it up. I devoured Reagan’s story which are the first three books in the series. This is a fantastic start to unique Urban Fantasy series. I adored this book and was hooked from beginning to end. It’s an exciting, fun, and action-packed read.Reagan is a supernatural bounty hunter in New Orleans and The Realm. She’s strong, independent, sassy and at times smart mouthed.Darius is an elder vampire and has a strong personality. The novel is full of magic, vampires, shifters, and so much more. The romance is smoldering and a slow burn. The world building is exceptional. The secondary characters are enjoyable and the interactions between them keeps the story flowing. The storyline is intriguing and fun.Born in Fire is a remarkable read. I very much enjoyed and highly recommend for urban fantasy fans.Rated: 4 Stars

Such a fun story! Love it!
Amazing! Reagan is hilarious! I love her personality so much, and she's so relatable. She's awkward, honest, and a badass! I love her little neighborhood of loyal misfits. I feel like her reaction to things in the story are how regular people would react. The world of Demon Days Vampire Nights is unique and fun! The story was full of action and hilarious antics. Loved it so much.

Intriguing
This book is a real treasure. It blends reality with supernatural, making it an interesting read. I love the dry humor and banter. I enjoyed it very much.

Meet Reagan, crazy supernatural bounty hunter extraordinaire with a super rare blend of magic
Meet Reagan, supernatural bounty hunter extraordinaire with a super rare blend of magic. Who also reaaaaalllly needs to bring her mark in so she can get paid and get some decent ac going in her rented house. All of which was going according to plan... until an elder vampire (and a seriously hot one too) just came up and took her mark and as such, her pay check. Yeah, that's not going over well. Now Darius has the balls to request her aid? Sure he will pay her an insane amount of money and give her a house... but he's still a vampire. He took one mark away from her, who says he wont screw her over again? And then there is the teensy weensy secret of her magic that if word got out, would spell a whole new level of trouble for our kick ass bounty hunter. My take on the book:The snark is strong in this one... I enjoyed it!Weirdly enough, its only when writing this review that I noticed things were lacking in the book.Character development was decent. We met the players, we got a some info about Reagan and that's pretty much it. Her mother died, but I don't think we found out how, she works in the bounty hunting business but we don't know how she got there, she has no papers but is able to rent a house (while I guess that should be possible in some case when paying cash or so... but still!). We got next to no info about Darius, other that he's an elder vampire with good taste in his home decoration. Yeah, so that was lacking.Reagan is also certifiably crazy, rushing off without thinking things through. Her thoughts and ramblings befit a teenager rather than an adult woman. The plot and the world building were great, enough descriptions (but none too boring) to keep me immersed in the created world.Pacing was good, we had a lot of action going on and it didn't feel rushed at all. There were (as far as I can tell) no errors and there is no sex in this book (though we have a scene with a naked Darius) if that is important to you.All in all, I really enjoyed reading the book, but once it was finished I kept thinking back to the things it lacked. So while not wholly convinced, book 2 is in my TBR pile... lets hope it brings me around! :)
