Works with M1 macbook pro!
Great box. Single cable solution and works with the M1 macbook pro. Finally no cables hanging off the side of the mac! Just one cable and the external monitor. Hard drives plugged in to the box behind my desk. Great.Note: I needed to use the supplied usb-c cable to connect the box to the mac. Also make sure the mac is plugged in to the usb-c por on the box with the small computer icon. Then all works well. Weirdly the white macbook pro usb-c cable doesn’t seem to like it but its not a problem. Just use the one supplied!

Excellent product
Pleasantly surprised with this small dock, nearly has everything I need. I didn’t realise it doesn’t have a line in for audio but have got around that by plugging sound bar into monitor and using hdmi connection to from dock which gives me audio. This is an item I would recommend to others working from home alot

does NOT charge a surface pro 7
bought for my surface pro 7 but this DOES not put enough charge out to charge it at all. Its obviuosly NOT 60w as stated as that is the requirement for the surfaqce pro7.

Secures your thin-and-light laptop and provides a one-cable link to peripherals
Having just replaced our laptop with a smaller ‘thin and light’ device (a Dell XPS 13) this is the ideal companion for when it’s at our house. As it is a Docking Station it is not intended to be used on-the-move - for that job you’d be wanting a USB-C hub to increase connectivity, instead this device should have a permanent home in a location where you might want to set-down so I have it positioned on the desk in our study and by utilising the equipped security cable, I am reassured that both it and my laptop are safe and secure. Not only that, but it also provides a handy suite of functions that make it easier to use a smaller-sized device as a desktop replacement. I have two monitors, a full sized keyboard and a wireless mouse all hooked up through this dock and that’s the beauty of having a dock such as this, you only have one cable to connect and it all just works - thanks to the power and flexibility of the USB-C connection. It is pretty easy to release a laptop from the clutches of this docking station, as you are provide with two fob-style keys. For a lot of the time we don’t need to move the laptop and it stays sat on the desk, but provided you have a secure place to put the keys then it should provide a solid deterrent for opportunistic thieves that haven’t already been defeated by our other home security provisions.Whilst it seems quite pricey at c. £160 (at time of review) it is a good forward-thinking dock that suits the more modern range of ‘thin and light’ laptops as opposed to the older-style of 15.6” normal sized laptops, and the USB-C connectivity is the only way to go for this. It’s solid and reassuring and I’m pleased with it.

Great except no video.
After my cheap usb-c dock randomly stopped working out of the blue I decided to splurge for something from a known brand. Picking up the package from behind my bin where Herpes had left it I was impressed by the heft. Opening the box it was well packaged and this continued inside to the equipment itself.Well made, beefy psu, but, no matter what I tried my Mac Boook Pro 13 would not recognise that there was another display connected. I tried 3 different monitors (dell, acer and apple all of which are known to work) and both video outputs but nothing showed up as an external display on my Mac.I also had some dropouts with the ethernet port and installing the kensington dock software caused my mac to stutter badly when using synergy to unify keyboard and mouse across multiple machines.Sadly for me it's faulty / not fit for purpose and so it's being returned and a 1/5th the price no name special has been bought arriving tomorrow so fingers crossed that works.

Very Good
I have a very slim Ultrabook with only two C Ports. I chose this type of laptop as I travel a lot and size/weight are the most important considerations. My wife used a very large Sony laptop and was always getting stopped by airlines for being overweight. The downside to the laptop is that it only has two C Ports and sometimes when I am lecturing I run out of ports. This Kensington Docking Station resolves one issue but creates another. It is very easy to use, as it locks in place and plugs into one of the C ports via a wire. This DS then gives you multiple outlets. 4 Ports 3.0, 1 USB C, Ethernet, 3.5 Audio Out, and 2 Display Ports. This should be enough for most people. It is very simple to use and operate. Once in place, via arms that adjust, it expands your ports. The transfer times are very good and I have not seen any lag effects on the display ports of=r whilst downloading via the C port. Overall it is very good. My issue, as I travel a lot, it is quite heavy/bulky at 1.5kg, it weighs a fraction more than my Ultrabook. So this item is probably best taken to places where weight is not an issue or used on a laptop that stays in one place.Overall, this is a super unit, easy to use, fast and is very very useful. I am therefore happy to recommend it.
