So far I have only used the soap and scuttle itself but I have been impressed by the quality of both it and the other items that I received. I was given this set as a Christmas gift because I decided a year ago that I wanted to switch to a safety razor or straight razor from the disposable and electric razors I had always used before. It also seemed to me that the disposable razor quality had gone down hill over the years and you can't get a close shave with an electric. While this and other products by this company seem a bit expensive, they also seem well worth the price and will save money in the long run.

This is a great product. It's time for us men to spoil ourselves.

I love the soap, it smells great and helps me get a much closer shave than the shaving gel I have been using, the brush does a great job working up a good thick lather. filling the scuttle mug with really hot water really helps too... I am planning on having a Solomon straight razor in my future

I have been so spoiled byu this wondrous little invention since I purchased it. I had no idea something so simple, like keeping your lather hot, would make shaving so much more enjoyable! The handle makes it super easy to hold on to so you can get a good lather, and the ridges help you to keep the lather the correct consistency (not to much water, not too little). Perfect for straight razor shaving or for any shaving you choose to use shave soap for!

I bought this scuttle mug for my husband for Christmas and he loves it! He said it keeps the lather warm throughout the shave and it has lots of room to work up the shaving foam. It is heavy enough that he doesn't need to pick it up to stir the foam with his brush, and still make a full bowl of foam. It is nice looking and very masculine! It suits him and he is quite pleased.

The handle is great because it's much easier to hold onto when your hands are wet. Also, the hole for warm water keeps it warm much longer, making for an even better shave. The ridges make it easy to brush off any excess soap, and it's the perfect size. This was the perfect Christmas gift for my father. He didn't like the typical bowl that comes with shaving brushes because they don't have a handle, so this one is beyond perfect!

Bought this for my boyfriend. The first one arrived with a crack, but this is likely the result of shipping. I was able to return easily through amazon. My boyfriend really likes the scuttle mug. I did quite a bit of shopping around and this seems to be a good deal for the price.
