Perfect fit on HP dv6t-7000 (Product number: A5F74AV)
Installed on my HP dv6t-7000 (Product number: A5F74AV). Kids spilled milk near the ESC key, so I lost ESC, ~, Tab, Q and 1 keys. I am typing with the new keyboard and as you can tell, the keys work. Keyboard has the exact layout and lights as OEM (Caps Lock, Volume Mute and WiFi keys have lights), backlit looks the same. Installation was simple, there are 2 screws that hold keyboard in place, one is visible on the bottom of laptop and has a picture of a keyboard next to it, the other is under the smartprotect cover on bottom of the laptop. One screw and that cover comes off, and you will see another screw with a keyboard picture. One note to help with install is to remove the CD/DVD drive so you can push on the bottom of the old keyboard to get it out, you have to give it a good push to get the clips to start unlatching. CD/DVD drive is secured with one screw and is also under the smartprotect cover, screw is between the HD and CD/DVD. Connection ribbons are near the middle of the keyboard so be careful not to yank the keyboard out too fast. Very pleased with the feel and fit of the keyboard, glad to have all my keys working again - no more on-screen keyboard.

Keyboard fit
Easy to install but does not fit/lay flat like the original. The keyboard works fine but the fit is not quite correct.

Perfect keyboard and exact fit for an HP Envy DV6-7000 series laptop. Great product.
My four year old HP Envy DV6-7210 had several keys that the lettering had worn off due to their being some of the main keys........a, e, l, etc. I was going to replace the keycap but these are 5.95 each so to replace 4 of them would be some 25 bucks plus shipping, plus tax. Also there are three pieces that make up each key and some 5 different hinge styles........none interchangeable with each other. So you have to know what you need when you order it..............doing a search for your exact model computer is meaningless as it says the manufacturers use keyboards from several different suppliers. SO.......after watching a couple of videos on key removal (not necessary if you are already missing the key) I decided to take a cap off and look at the hinge. Well, when the cap came off it brought the hinge with it......breaking one of the four tiny tabs and now, when reassembled.......the cap will not stay on and the hinge and cap just pop off. Shucks. So I decided just to get an entire new keyboard..........why pay 25 dollars for four keys alone plus shipping and tax when you can buy an entire new keyboard via Prime for some 18 dollars. But in my travels I found that the main difference between plain keyboards and the backlighted version is just an extra cable on the keyboard and the matching connector on the laptop. So, I took the plunge, tore into my laptop and sure enough, my computer already had the extra connector on the motherboard. So, I just went ahead and bought a keyboard that was backlighted. I do a lot of work in a dimly lit room and have to keep a lamp on, even while watching TV in order to be able to read the keys. The keyboard arrived in record time via Prime..............ordered it on a Saturday and it guaranteed two day delivery scheduled for Monday and it actually made it..........still don't know about all that.......came via mail. Impressed me. So, I opened my laptop back up, took out the old keyboard, hooked up the two cables to the appropriate connectors, snapped the new keyboard in place, reassembled the laptop.....and fired her up.Viola..............I can see..........very nice, well lit, and impressive.............wish I had known this a couple of years ago. Well worth the plunge to do this, even if the keyboard would still have been functional. So in summary, this particular keyboard does indeed fit an HP Envy DV6 of the 7000 series if you have the required extra connector for the backlight function.

Great replacement keyboard!
Several keys on my hp laptop no longer functioned properly starting about three months after the warranty had expired. Since my computer otherwise worked fine, i decided to install a new keyboard in lieu of buying a new computer. This keyboard was fairly easy to install and works perfectly, just like when my computer was new. It even comes with a lighted keyboard which I did not have before.

Worked but damaged
I have ordered from this company before, with much success. This time, however, while the box and packaging had no damage, the keyboard was bent, had a crack in the plastic bezel and the DEL key was falling off. Thankfully it wasn't for a client, but my own personal laptop. Was able to bend it back and replaced the key from the old one. You may want to check quality control a little better.

Excellent product. Used as a replacement keyboard in my DV7000 and it is performing very well. Highly recommended and I would check with HP but I am fairly sure that all DV7000 have the connections built in for a back light keyboard. It is well worth the investment. Cost and repair install less than a hundred.
