It was love at first cuppa!
Once upon a time I dated a Brit who taught me to appreciate tea that actually has some flavor and body, which teas "blended for the American palate" do not have, and also how to make it (the water MUST be BOILING when poured over the bags). And once you know what tea SHOULD be, you can't ever go back. I was spending a fortune getting various brands from importers when I tripped over London Cuppa at TJMaxx and bought a box...After I'd made the first cup I went back and bought every box they had...and continued to do that every time I saw it at TJMaxx till I found the 440 bag pack at an importer. Their price was good, but their shipping charge was outrageous! I was about to order again from them anyway till it occurred to me to check Amazon (what the heck, they have everything else!)--and there it was, even eligible for free super saver shipping! Woohoo! :)My only quibble with the 440 count bag is that, unlike other English tea brands, the tea bags aren't in 40 or 80 count air tight pouches. 440 bags is a LOT of tea bags, and tea deteriorates when not stored in air tight conditions for any length of time. But I have a Food Saver and a Fresh Saver (vacuum baggers for frozen and fresh foods), so I repack it myself in bags of 80 and keep those in the big bag in the pantry (yes, those bags ARE expensive, but they're re-useable). When I open a pouch it goes into a sealable tin by the stove. If you like GOOD strong black tea, you'll love London Cuppa. And Amazon has it for the best price.

Side by side comparison of square bags vs round
So I really have been drinking London cuppa tea for years now. When they changed over from round bags to square bags it has totally thrown me off. I kept thinking the square bags were not the same and that there must be a difference. Today while cleaning out my tea cupboard I found another couple bags of the round London Cuppa I decided to do a side-by-side comparison to put my mind at ease or to confirm that they were different. Now mind you I am no scientist. I put each bag in a mason jar added the same amount of water and gave it a full five minutes to determine the outcome. In the first minute the round bag was noticeably different and darker brew. I thought for sure it was a positive test For trickery. I let it brew the full five minutes and there was no difference. I am thinking that the shape of the bag affects the way a brews and then just giving it a little bit more time makes them equal in color. The round on flavor comparison was a little more bitter but that could be that the bag is older. I did like the bitter flavor more and it does remind me of they way the use to be. Maybe the tea leaves are nicer and kinder in the square bags. I do prefer angst ridden bitter leaves they match my soul so much better.I understand why they went to square bags there’s less waste of tea bag material. I do so for some reason still miss the round ones though.

I Cannot recommend this as a good buy
I Cannot recommend this as a good buy. This particular bag lacked the potency I so came to love about London Cuppa tea bags. At first the taste was fine but after 2 weeks of use the quality of taste subsided immensely. I'm not sure if this is a knockoff off or just bad quality control. But I would not recommend this. I've bought from stores in the past and taste and quality has never been an issue.

If you order the round bags you may not get them! They could be square instead!
I enjoy the flavor of Cuppa black tea. So much so that I ordered a bag of 440 round bags. When I got the bag I could smell the scent of delicious tea. I was somewhat concerned because that meant the bag was not air tight. When I opened the bag I was disappointed to see 440 little square teabags instead of the lovely round bags, plus there was tea dust all over the inside of the bag as if some of the bags had burst open. It is not returnable. But I intend to drink the tea. Bummed.

Londoncuppa is a mild black tea that is perfect hot or cold!

Weak flavor, have to use 2 bags, do not recommend
Disappointed in this large multi pack. Tea does not come in round bags like I had received in the past, they are square and just piled into a big plastic bag. I also found the flavor different, not as strong as previous London Cuppa Tea I have had. I have to use two teabags to get a strong enough flavor. I would not buy this again.

Amazing Tea, but HORRIBLE packaging.
I am a London Cuppa loyal. I first found the tea at a local discount outlet. It was the loose tea tin and priced for only a few dollars. I was hooked! This is by far my favorite basic, strong black tea. A drop of honey and milk and I'm in heaven. It was well worth the non-discounted price (although slightly shocked at the difference) available on Amazon. This large bag is the most economical option if you love the product. However, I've purchased three separate orders (each lasts about a year for us) with three different experiences. The first was perfect. Each bag intact and the expiration about a year out. In the second order about a sixth of the bags were not sealed properly. Annoying, but I typically use loose leaf so no biggie. The third order (March 2014) was terrible. Most of the bags were not sealed properly (about 95%) and the expiration date was four months out. For a cafe that goes through tea like mad this would not be an issue, except the broken bags preventing convenient single-serve options. For me, who enjoys them slowly with friends over a year it was frustrating. The larger bag/outer packaging was ripped causing them to be slightly stale. The constant emptying of broken bags into a brew basket or tossing a seemingly good bag into a cup, only to find tea chunks floating in my cup, was the worst part. Had I noticed the rip and not expected a few bad bags, it would have been sent back ASAP. As the bad bag count climbed, so did my disappointment. I am back to place my fourth yearly order; however I will take the kick in the wallet and order the smaller boxes. I'm not sure if the company is having the issue or this particular packaging changed but I will not be accidentally dumping scoops worth of tea on the counter, floor or down the drain again. This lovely tea is far too good for that!
