Q: Anyone know how this compares to "Liquid Smoke" type products? Old family recipe for beef jerky uses LS, which is not available where I live now.

This doesn't add any particular flavour that you could pin down, it's certainly not smokey, it adds more of a Umami quality to your food though. I use it to add Umami to my smoked beef briskets as part of the marinade.

Hi I've had my bottles for some time . I get six at a time and am already on my third bottle. Best before date is on the label on the side. Mine are all best before 10.22.

Totally addictive

I splash it on anything: buttered toast (better than Marmite), eggs, soup, pasta sauces.. it flavours mayonnese, butter, oil (a good replacement for balsamic vinegar with crudites).. vinaigrette. Totally addictive.
