Don't try this "stupid human trick" at home! (SPOILER: A Happy Ending! I love this little jar!)
FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm highly-partial to glass for kitchen storage. Versus plasic, it's not ever even close; the glass wins every time. So the chances were very good that this jar would merit at least 3 stars right out of the box. Because ... Glass! But there's glass. And then there's GLASS. This jar is, absolutely, the latter! SHAPE "ROUNDED-CORNERS" SQUARE SHAPE adds a nice touch, and it's easier to line up on a shelf or counter without wasting space than its round jar "cousins" are. APPEARANCE This jar is "time transcendent" -- it gives you a CLEAR, CLEAN LOOK that wouldn't look out of place no matter what style your room decor is. This jar can be very unobtrusive, if that's the preferred look. Or, if bright colors are your "jam", go crazy and get several jars in various sizes. Add brightly colored ephemera to each (Gumballs? Crayons? Tiny origami cranes? One color per jar? Multicolors in each jar? It's all up to you!) It can be your very own personal art installation! The DEBOSSED (raised) BRAND LOGO is another nice touch; I have to confess that the debossed logo and the shape of the jar were what initially caught my eye when I started looking at glass storage jars on Amazon. The logo is just raised letters in the glass itself -- very "clean" looking and subtle. (And if you hate it, you can always turn that side to face the wall.) I'm not disappointed, I like it as much in-person as I did on my phone screen. CLEANING Cleaning? Well, it's glass. If you're reading this, I doubt I need to expound on how to clean glass, or how easy it is. So let's move on ... SIZE I purchased this "little dude" to hold training treats for *my* "little dude": my spaniel mix, Max. It's DECEPTIVELY ROOMY. It will comfortably hold two- 6oz envelopes of the soft, small training h"pellets". I put two different varieties in the jar and shook it to mix them up. Max knows this jar VERY well! LID AND SEAL I mentioned just above that these particular treats are soft. The LID seals perfectly; the little treats toward the bottom of the jar are as soft and, presumably therefore as fresh, as the treats are at the top when I add a new bag. There's a well-made RUBBER GASKET (orange) on the underside of the lid. This seems to be the key to the nice, tight seal. The rubber gasket comes off if you need to clean it, which is a nice feature. CLOSING MECHANISM The CLOSING MECHANISM definitely takes a decisive pull to open and push to seal. It's not that it resists your efforts, and it shouldn't even make you break a nail; the movements are just reassuringly "crisp". QUALITY I saved the best for last. This jar is EXCEPTIONALLY WELL MADE! The closing mechanism is solidly attached to both the lid and the jar, itself; there's no "wobble" going on with the lid when it's open, and the metal mechanism is solidly-enough made that I predict it will last for a long time with no issues. The glass. This is TRULY THICK GLASS, which I really like in general. Because the glass is thick, this is not a light jar, even though it's relatively small. In a jar this small, the weightiness is probably going to be fine -- appealing, even -- for most people. I'd imagine, though, that in the largest sizes the weight could potentially be concerning if you have issues with such things. Especially if you plan to use it to store something heavy the weight of the jar itself should be considered. Now for my "USER'S STORY". [PLEASE DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!] My little jar, filled to the brim with dog training treats, slid off a table today. No, change that. It sliiiiid off a table today; tit had some impressive horizontal momentum! I watched in horror as it flew past me before I could grab it. The table's about counter height, i guess. Maybe a wee bit lower. That full, heavy jar landed HARD. Oh, did I mention that the floor on which it landed is CERAMIC TILE?? CUT TO THE CHASE ALREADY! Not a chip. Not a craze. Not a crack. The lid mechanism? Still solid. The seal? Still as tight as ever. THE JAR IS PERFECTLY FINE! Do I have to say that I think this little jar is WORTH THE COST? It will probably still be going strong LONG after I am! MY RATING: 5-STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Max's Rating: 5 PAW PAIRS 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 Would I purchase it again? YES! Would I recommend it to others? YES!

Nice glass container
The glass container has a nice weight, and the clamp is strong. My freshly ground coffee maintains its flavor. Additionally, my container was well-packed.

Impressive Quality!
Sturdy, thick glass. Tight seal. Impressive quality for something as simple as a storage jar. I'm hooked!

Very good quality.
You can buy with confidence as this Kilner jar is of high quality, unlike some other cheap brands that don't even seal properly and with very loose kids. Never heard of Kilner until I purchased this jar. I know now the quality of their jars. You can buy with confidence.

Very nice jar!
Adorable, high-quality jar, and just what I wanted for making short-term-storage refrigerator pickles. (I'm sure it would be fine for "real" canning, too. I wonder why it's called "canning," BTW, and not "jarring"...) Arrived lickety-split, in perfect condition.
