Absolutely love this. I am 46 and while I have always had very oily skin, my skin has changed a bit the last few years. Still oily, but my skin has become more sensitive and have started to get dry areas when using my actives (aha/bha peels, Retinal, Vit C). My skin barrier was compromised, and peeling easily while still oily in areas, very frustrating.I wanted a moisturizer that didn't feel like it just sat on top of my skin, and something that didn't break me out. This moisturizer is a perfect thin texture, and soaks right in. It is expensive, but you don't need a large amount. I am never without this!

Best calming serum ever for sensitive skin. I am a medical aesthetician and swear by this product. It’s a bit pricey, but I wear it right after I wash my face and it’s soaks right in and then I use Dermalogica with sunscreen over it and then foundation. Never greasy always takes the red out of my face.

Out of nowhere my face has become sensitive and reactive, I’m assuming it’s because of the dry cold weather but it is still uncomfortable and frustrating. I had had this in my cart for weeks and held off because the price was so high. Finally after another round of red, flaky, dry areas developing I decided to invest in this product. And I’m 100% glad I did…Within two uses it healed those spots and cut down the time spent on the flaking/healing stage by about 85% and I’ve not had another reactive flare up since. It’s soothing and moisturizing and, despite feeling more like a moisturizer than a serum, it isn’t greasy. A little goes a long way so the bottle should last awhile.If anyone is dealing with sensitive, red, reactive skin I would HIGHLY recommend this product- especially for the winter months! I wish I had bought this right away instead of trying numerous less expensive options that just did not help as well as this!Also, I do not use this in conjunction with other Dermalogicia products but fit it into my main brand of skin care products and it plays very nicely with other brands. I’m sure using their entire Calming Collection would make a bigger impact, but for my moderate sensitivity this one single product on its own worked amazingly well! I apply it after washing my face and using a HA moisturizing serum but before my moisturizer. I found that when I had the red patches it was best to put this on right after washing before any other serums, but to prevent flare ups it works fine after the HA serum.BOTTOM LINE: I will definitely buy again when I run out and I would HIGHLY recommend it. It is worth investing in!

Holy crap. Finally something that works. Freezing wind in Boston or just a random flare up - never sure what's going to set it off.I used to use Clarins Gentle Day Creme and serum. It was discontinued. Always happens.Please don't discontinue the Dermalogica ultracalming serum. It's made a difference in appearance and comfort from the first use.

I've had a lot of issues with my facial skin. I decided to try this serum and has been working great for me. It's very gentle and nice.

Since increasing my skin care routine, there has been a lot of trial and error. Most errors result in angry, inflamed, burning skin. Five months ago, I began using the Ultracalming Serum as part of my Night Routine. The first night, I did not think it was doing anything. No tingles or instantaneous results. I woke up the next morning and ran to the mirror to see if I would be taking a sick day. No sick day! Rash? Barely visible. No burning, inflammation, itching, head fell off, nothing. Angry skin that was calmed.Irritation or not, I use the serum AM & PM after toning to help strengthen the skin barrier and provide a layer of protection between my skin and reactive products. On days I lose my mind and try some new concoction, that looks like it hurts, I will do a sandwich of Calming serum, reactive product, Calming serum, ceramide-laden moisturizer. Great results during the 5 months of use. Even after the severe burns I received from a so-called glycolic wash for sensitive skin (I know. I'm the dummy for using it), the serum minimized the damage and reduced healing time considerably.I am sure to order a new bottle of serum when the current is half full. I cannot miss a day without use. The product is truly all that it claims.
