Love this coffee roaster!!!!!
Have been roasting my own green coffee beans for years, predominately with popcorn poppers. They did a good job until they burned up, but it wasn’t cost-effective and required constant attention. This affordable device requires very little oversight, cleans up easily, and not only roasts coffee perfectly, but also works great for roasting nuts and seeds! I had to find my own formula. I add 3 cups of green coffee beans, turn it all the way up, and set a timer for 20 minutes. If not dark and glossy at that point, I check on it every two or three minutes until I see a dark, glossy brown on the beans. If the beans are in the middle of a crack, and there is a great deal of smoke, but I believe they have roasted sufficiently, I take off the lid, turn the temperature all the way down, and let the smoke blow away as it continues to stir them, without cooking the beans a great deal longer. The smoke vents nicely as it roasts, but I blow the smoke away with a fan (on front porch, not appropriate for inside use). If you do multiple batches, it is probably a good idea to clean the glass lid in-between.

Highly recommended, good consistent roast, great value
This roaster does a fine job. It's easy to use, about the perfect size, and isn't that noisy. It does "smoke" when the beans are getting done (as will all coffee beans), but if you put it in front of a window with the fan blowing it outside, or (like I do) just set it on the porch and set a timer while it works. I usually only put about 2 cups worth of beans in it at a time, and my roasts come out near perfect every time, very consistent. Sure, it's not quite as fancy as the $600 dollar roasters that are available, but it's also not $600 and it works just fine. I recommend setting the timer for a little less time than you think it's going to take, and then just visually inspecting every couple minutes until it's perfect. I bought this when I got tired of my oven roasting pouring smoke into my house, and it's been fantastic: highly recommend, particularly for the price. Play around with it a couple times to get the perfect temp and time for your desired roast level, then just do that over and over.

Great Coffee Bean Roaster
The Coffee Roaster works perfectly. The beans are rolled by a rotating rod to roast them evenly and prevent burning. This is so much easier than roasting them in my oven. The assembly and operation manuals are lacking, but these reviews have provided me with the information I needed. I love this roaster.

Excellent Product
So far an excellent product, very practical and easy to use. It should be noted that it is not professional and must be learned with practice.

Acceptable.
I use it for coffee roasting. I've only used to about 10 times, but it seems solid and well-made. It feels like it was made from re-purposed industrial parts. I washed it first with dish soap as recommended, but on first use it gave off a terrible smell. I let it cool and washed it again, and that fixed it. Still...this is something that should have been done at the factory. What did they expose me to? The stirrer is a bent piece of 1/4" aluminum tubing, so it won't bend easily. I can roast two batches of coffee with no problems, but by the third batch the stirrer starts getting stuck a lot, so it needs to cool off. A dark roast takes about 20 minutes. All in all, it seems fine.

An excellent surprise for the price.
I was skeptical about this from the start, but it quickly proved it's worth. Easy to use. Produces well roasted beans with minimal assistance. Occasionally have to shuffle contents to promote even roasting, but for the most part, this roaster is self sufficient. Pretty well made for the price. Definitely more than I expected.

You can't use over the weight to get the level of cook you want.
