A revolution in stone
This classic text on The principles of Greek architecture has stood the test of time. The book expresses in clear English the evolution of Greek architecture as a revolution in stone construction and a radical break from its predecessors of wood and brick. The innovative nature of this change of building material created an aesthetic durability which has endured to this day

A Solid Handbook
While Dinsmoor wrote a very comprehensive handbook on Greek architecture, it is a bit dated at this point. Ancient Greek Architects at work was a valuable read for me not only in my Greek architecture survey class, but also as I prepared for my MA exams in Classical Archaeology. I highly recommend this book.
