Sturdy build quality, great for clearance, made in USA
I purchased this for my vehicle to make oil changes much easier. I used the Amazon compatibility tool to check (and in my case, it was accurate). It definitely makes the job easier. I have used this drain valve, the Fumoto, and a few other brands. If you have a vehicle with limited clearance (I see some other reviews pointing this out), keep in mind that other drain valves have a larger footprint and would likely not be compatible as well. Regardless, I would check for clearance: both ground clearance and around the oil pan before purchasing.Pros:- Lower installation profile than other drain plugs (it's in the shape of a bolt head)- The build quality! It's a very robust product, feels like no corners cut.- You can torque to spec because a socket can fit over it. This is something none of the protruding valve design competitors can do. Make sure you have a 24MM socket.- Does the job, makes oil changes very easy.- Made in the USACons:- It does slow down the flow of oil, but that will happen with any valveVery worth it. I will update with a long term review of this oil drain valve design.

Get THIS thing!!!
This thing is MONEY!!! Solid CNC construction. Brass cap with o-ring on outside of valve/drain plug - so even if valve seeps, no leakage! 10in hose on drain piece, so ALL the oil goes in the pan!!! Not a drop on driveway! And drain is quick, unlike others, this one has a big orifice, so oil drains fast, especially if it's warm. Expensive - YES, but WORTH EVERY PENNY!I have on all 4 of my cars!

Uupdated review 12/17/23
Ok, so ValvoMax reached out after I left my initial review and the sent me a full care package for my vehicle. They sent a new valve, more gaskets, the disposable cups and I was not expecting all of that. To the team at ValvoMax, thank you. So I replaced the valve and everything is working fantastic. I think it may have been just the seal but I put the new one on to see and no leaks. I should have wrote this a little while ago but I just hadn’t had the time. Listen, there are not a lot of car companies out there in this day and age that are WILLING to stand by their products like this. After my initial review, the reached out immediately to correct the problem. I initially thought I was at a loss. The care packed they sent was a pleasant surprise and I did wait to install it and now I’m beyond the moon. Any other LS build that I do will be outfitted with this system. They went above and beyond to resolve the situation and in the process earned a lifetime customer. If anyone ever had a second thought about getting their product, dismiss that thought and make the purchase! You won’t be disappointed and know that you have a team of individuals that stand behind their product. Makes changing oil even when the engine as at temperature a breeze. Lifetime customer. Thank you ValvoMax for everything.First review left back during the summer:Finished an engine build decided that this would be a great add on to ease maintenance. I followed all directions, torqued to spec, but I consistently found oil in my driveway and that has never been an issue with my vehicle. I ended up checking and re-torquing twice to see if the leak would subside. Ultimately I ended up going back to the OEM drain plug and I no longer have a leak.To be fair, the leak itself never came through the check ball side, it leaked from behind, through the threads. I may give it another shot with teflon tape around the threads but as for now, I will be keeping the OEM drain plug.

Not for heavy off-roader
Got this for my Jeep Gladiator. If you are doing light off-roading and driving on road, this is a good time saver but any heavy off-roader should avoid this as it sticks out 5mm below the oil pan. For other cars that use the same thread this is a good investment to stop mess and it’s easy to install. The instruction call for a 24mm wrench, I was able to use a 24mm socket by first removing the o ring and the rubber attachment of the cover and then sliding the socket and torque it to the same spec as the old oil drain plug. No leaks were seen as I believe the new version solved the issue with the older one by including a rubber ring around the washer.

Will buy another for our 2nd car
Just installed it on my 2017 Nissan rogue sport. I overfilled the oil by a quart so I got to immediately try the drain feature of this valve plug; I drained the extra quart into the empty 5 quart oil jug and it works perfectly! Also, this was the first time I ever changed my own oil.No leaks so far. I will update in 5,000 miles at the next oil change.
