It is an ideal science game to arouse children's curiosity, their interest in science and a way to occupy their time learning about the earth, totally recommended.

The media could not be loaded. This is a very nice collection of different gems, geodes and fossils. It has all of what was in products description. Good quality of gems and a useful information booklet. It all came packaged in box ready for gift giving.Box is a great way to keep all of the gems together. Educational, interactive and interesting group of gems, geodes and fossils.

It says it comes with over 200 specimens and while I guess that’s technically true most are smaller than a green pea. You will get maybe 10 larger ones the size of a large marble and another 20 or so about the size of a normal marble the rest are small. Over 1/2 are so small I would say it’s almost like pebbly sand so not really what I was expecting. One of the geodes is tiny as well and 1/2 broken. You do get 3 shark teeth and a pretty near book talking about all the different types of specimens in the box. Overall it’s not terrible for the price I paid as it was on sale but just don’t buy expecting to get a larger number or rocks which is what my kiddo was wanting. Yellow marble from a marble works for reference in pictures.

Got this as a gift for my little brother who collects rocks and crystals and he loves this! Comes with so many different stones and a book that teaches you about the different stones and figure out what each one is.

Was exactly as was stated, most of the stones are pea gravel size though, not suitable for children that still want to put stuff in there mouth, and easy to lose the stones due to size, but for a gift for the age range where kids lose interest after 1 week. It’s a great gift to get kids into rock collecting.

Got this for my child as a birthday present and, man, I'm as impressed as she was! The collection comes full of neat rocks, fossils, and minerals, plus it contains a magnifying glass, National Geographic pouch, and plastic display case. I was grateful that the box even included two geodes that we can break together. The learning guide and identification sheet feature interesting facts and clear photos, too. If you're looking for a great gift for a kiddo who loves collecting things--especially rocks and gems--this is it! I know I sure would have loved this as a kid, especially the little plastic case that makes it possible to display the gemstones that you admire most. Great job, National Geographic!
