Turns shaving from a chore to a day at the spa
When used properly, this shaving scuttle mug really makes a difference in your shaving routine. I actually look forward to shaving! Fill the internal portion with hot water and then add some more to the "mug" portion to let your shaving brush soak while you shower, wash your face, whatever. When you are ready to shave, pour all the water out and fill up the internal reservoir again. Use your brush to get your shaving cream or soap lathered up and then use the mug portion to build up the lather. Your lather will be nice and warm and will last longer with the warm mug.

Love it!
Works very well. I love it. I used to use a small plastic bowl but the soap never lathered up well making me use more soap. Now I use way less and the soap never goes cold. Awesome idea! Just be careful, it's ceramic. It does have a rough bottom surface, so put it on a small towel or something if you have quartz or stone countertop. I'm thinking it could scratch up glaze surfacing on the counter. Also they give you a cork plug and a rubber plug. The rubber plug can fall into pot and never come out when heated. Cork seems a tad small too. But I put the cork's narrow end into the rubber plug and that tightened everything up, so no more fear of one or the other falling in and never getting them back out. So again use both at same time.

Great Product, but the Cork, God Why!
Guys, this was precisely what I was looking for. A slightly oversized, heavy, quality shaving cup.The internal "warm water channel" works exactly as advertised. When filled with hot water, the cup becomes hot to the touch, warming your shaving cream and/or soap. The indentations are perfect for getting a quality lather on good shaving cream and/or soap. Easy to clean, and should you require it, pop it right into the dishwasher and forget about it. Finally, it looks good, feels manly, and I like it in my everyday bathroom kit. But! The damn Cork... Let's talk about the Cork!It is a cheap, right-out-of-the-mill Cork. It is low quality and flakes if you scratch it moderately with your thumbnail. That isn't a big deal, but seems strange when paired against such a nice shaving cup.But here is the problem. The cork is EXACTLY the right size for the warm water channel. This means that if you push it down with light force, it will go parallel to the surface and be difficult to pry out of the hole when finished. Finally, if you're a functional moron like me, any ham-handed attempts to get the cork back out result in shoving the cork INTO the warm water channel. No! My Cork!!! I've been working at it for several minutes, like trying to dig termites out of a termite mound. Guys! My tools aren't working, and I can't get the Cork out.To the manufacturer, please consider oversizing the corks. That would make it simple to push in and remove. Finally, it is impossible to be pushed into the warm water channel by idiots like me. The cork is an odd detail to screw up with such a quality shaving cup. Or, consider another type of stopper for the water channel that I can't conceptualize now?

Good quality
I like the scuttle. Keeps the whipped soap warm. It was a gift from my wife. The only thing is the cork stoppers are too small and are inside the scuttle. Can’t get them out.

Nice Scuttle
It works well keeping my lather warm through a three pass shave. I fill with hot water then take my shower, then drain and refill before whipping up the lather.I agree that the cork is crap. It's a #7 cork. I bought these:https://www.amazon.com/WIDGETCO-Size-Cork-Stoppers-Standard/dp/B00QHLQNPW/ref=sr_1_22_sspa?sr=8-22-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGY

A 2 Year Review
As the title states, I’m writing this review 2 years after I purchased this set. I bought it to replace my beginners set (Van Der Hagen) which had lasted me 6 years and I wanted to get an upgrade to see if I would like using a straight razor over a safety razor. While when I first received this set I would have rated it a 4/5 (mostly because the soap included did not lather at all and I had to buy a different brand), each year I’ve owned this it’s lost a star. I hope this company has changed the soap they send out with this product. The brush is a synthetic and while I understand that synthetics are more affordable, it’s still losing bristles after 2 years. The brush also chipped its paint after being dropped a few inches onto the counter almost immediately after it’s first use, and currently it’s chipping paint around the edge by the bristles. So there goes one star. Onto the mug, the idea is nice and I’m sure it works for some, but I’ve never really gotten the point. It didn’t come with the corks advertised (I know this was fixed), but it’s also just pretty large and awkward to hold. I’ve got big hands and I’m no stranger to holding heavy pieces of equipment for a living, but this mug just seems a bit over kill. I couldn't store it in the mirror cabinet or in the vanity drawer. Also the design is a nice marketing piece (the ribs and grooves inside it) but some times I just find myself using my old Van Der Hagen mug cuz it’s honestly just easier. I give this product 2 stars because it works, but honestly, don’t pay attention to the cringy marketing that this is luxury product. It’s a affordable and has its place in this niche market, but if you have the time and patience, shop around. My recommendation is that if someone boasts of a new innovation in an old school trade, watch out, they may be trying to fix what isn’t broken. I’m currently purchasing a vintage mug from EBay for half the price which comes with a real bristle brush. I wouldn’t recommend buying this product, get a classic mug, brush, and soap bar. It may be all separate and a little more expensive, but then again you aren’t looking into this product because you’re concerned about convenience are you? If you want to do it the old school way, do it the old school way, those old guys knew what they were doing.

Good quality build and does what it is intended to do.
I was looking for a shaving scuttle for a while, but didn't want to spend too much money. Most that I found were smooth within the cup portion and I didn't particularly like that. This scuttle however, is made very well and had multiple ridges within the cup. I use P160 shaving soap, and the larger came out very nice and warm. I've used it almost every other day since it arrived and didn't see any issues with chipping or flakes coming apart. I would definitely recommend this scuttle if you're looking to upgrade your shave.

Easy to travel with
Great construction, way lighter than the ceramic ones. Easy to travel with.
