SPARC HD Radio SHD-TR10 Portable Stereo Radio with Alarm Clock and Built-in FM & HD Radio Tuners

Best price I could find on the INTERNET. I installed 6 new energizer ultimate lithium batteries and they went DEAD with in 7 days and I only played the radio about 4 hours in this period . I am now using the a/c adapter. I bought this radio to use as a portable radio, but I am disappointed if the radio is going to eat batteries in a very short time I will try a new set of energizer lithium batteries and I hope for better battery life.Time will tell.......

This is a great little radio. It does pick up a signal better than other cheap radios I've tried. When a signal comes in full HD the sound quality is astonishing for such a small package. I bought this to use at my job where radio reception is terrible at best, and cds/mp3/Bluetooth/Wifi etc. are not allowed. So, if I wanted to listen to music at all it had to be a very basic unit with nothing more than am/fm radio. This does the job. Now I have other people at my work wanting to get one. I did run a wire to the whip antenna from a copper air line up in the rafters of the building to gain better reception, but it was crudely done to gain slight improvement of radio reception. I plan on purchasing a C. Crane FM Reflect Dipole Antenna to see if I can perfect the reception, because the sound is that good when it comes in. I'll update this review as soon as I do. My only wish is that this radio could be turned up louder than it goes without distortion. There is a fine line between being loud and slightly distorted and just loud enough and absolutely crystal clear. Part of that just might be the signal reception. More to come.

I JUST RECEIVED THE UNIT TODAY AMD WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO HEARING MY FAVORITEM HD2 STATION. THIS WAS THE ONLY REASON FOR PURCHASING THE UNIT. IT HAS VERY WEAK RECEPTION AND FADES IN AND OUT CONSTANTLY. THE VOLUME IS NEARLY NON-EXISTANT. I WILL NO DOUBT END UP PURCHASING A MORE EXPENSIVE AND RELIABLE RECEIVER. I WILL RETURN THE UNIT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR A REFUND.

The radio really does not sound much different than any other FM radio; and the batteries drain to dead within a week even when the radio has been turned off all week. Draining the batteries when the radio is off within a week is expensive since it takes 6 AA batteries.

Works well, but doesn't retain my HD3 station. It reverts to HD1 when recovering from standby. Minor complaint as I programmed P1 for that station. The sound is really good for such a small box. Would have liked a line-in for my MP3's, but another minor complaint. Will recommend.

Easily programmable for multiple wake up times which it what I wanted it for - radio alarm. Decent speakers.

Worked great for few weeks but now I can no longer set the time or alarm. Also noticed it is no longer available, guess I wasn't the only one.
