Keep your Health in Check with Beets BLU Wireless Bathroom Scale
The Beets BLU Bluetooth bathroom scale is so innovative. For health conscious people this scale is a must in your home. What I love the most is that the Beets BLU Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 Smart Scale easily connects to my iPhone via Bluetooth 4.0. With BMI being such an important measurement by doctors it tracks my weight and Body Mass Index (BMI) over time and sends data directly to my iPhone when it is in range.I use the Beets BLU Smart Scale only, no reason for me to keep my old scale. If you have more than one family member in your household it does track multiple users. You can set goals and monitor your weight over time via the Beets BLU app. Beets BLU Smart Scale is ideal for anyone who need the motivation to lose weight (this is totally me). It has been tracking my body weight, body fat percentage, water and muscle level mass. It was hard when I first realized these things about myself. I have always struggled with my weight and this scale helps me monitor each morning making it a part of your healthy everyday routine. If you find yourself ready to know more about your body weight and health then you will want to purchase one of these "all-knowing" scales. You will then truly know what is going on with your body and how you want to make changes in your life.Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. However, I did receive a product from the company above and the opinions expressed in this post are 100% my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC guidelines.

No longer useful
While the scale worked as advertised some years ago, it eventually quit maintaining a Bluetooth connection - requiring a reconnection with every use. (Seems there was a sudden failure with an update.) Additionally, over the course of several years, all the app’s records were corrupted and totally lost - one “started from scratch” every time … including the Bluetooth connection. Now the app doesn’t even open.Attempts to use the QR codes attached to device take the trusting consumer to a GUARANTEED viral site. Had the manufacturer maintained the app, this might have been an excellent purchase, but DO NOT purchase this device and particularly DO NOT scan the scale’s QR code!Let’s hope the Renpho scale - and app - that replaced it will be considerably better.

and the scale seemed to be doing fine. It told me I was losing fat
I bought this scale back around August when I was losing a lot of fat, and the scale seemed to be doing fine. It told me I was losing fat, gaining muscle, a correlation that made sense to me. At the end of of the year I picked up weight lifting to get stronger and tone my body. I was eating clean (vegan actually), working out 6 days a week, and drinking a gallon of water a day. I expected that I would gain weight because of muscle gain and maybe water. However, when I would weigh myself and see weight gain, I also saw that my body fat went up and my muscle percentage went down. In fact, every time I saw a weight gain, body fat % went up and muscle % went down. When I lost weight, body fat % went down and muscle % went up. I started, to notice that no matter how hard I was working, whenever I gained weight, I NEVER saw muscle % go up. However, I managed to lose several inches and noticed a lot of muscle definition in many areas of my body. My point is, I believe this scale is not accurate. I believe this scale is using your weight and making it's own assumption of what your body fat and muscle % should be based on the number on the scale. Maybe someone could help clear this up. In the meantime, I gave it 2 stars because, I like the app, and the scale itself is put together pretty nicely, but I have yet to see it adjust the way I would think it would.

A Smart Scale for You
I'll start by saying that this scale is reasonably priced for what it's capable of doing. Also, it has an edge over the competition by being more attractive on both the top and bottom, although you won't be looking at the bottom much. It's battery powered, luckily, so you don't have to worry about its power source becoming outdated at some point. The battery cover seems durable and locks in well enough that it won't just fall out when placed down, which is important for peace of mind. Also, it uses Bluetooth wireless technology and that won't be going away anytime soon. It's app based for the iPhone and Android and doesn't require any kind of special adapter so that's simple enough. It tells you the two pieces of information that you're looking for and more. It gives you your weight, your body fat percentage, and also your BMI. The app adds some more features and allows you to track these numbers. Overall, this is a very useful product and an absolute top choice for a scale in your home.

Simple, informative, and private
So far, so good. I've had this for a week and things are working well. The scale itself is very simple and straightforward. About all there is to do is install the (provided) batteries and set the units of measure. The real bling is in the app, which actually has decent graphics and controls. The app also sends data to Apple HealthKit. And (what's unusual in this day and age) no frigging "account" is required. They are not sucking up your private data. Your data stays in your phone and what you choose to send to HealthKit (which has its own strong privacy settings). Pairing app and scale was very easy.My only complaint is minor: The app seems to register only one weigh-in a day. If you weigh yourself more than once, whatever is the latest reading is what gets logged, overwriting prior weigh-ins for the day. That's a shame. Sometimes there are reasons for weight change during a day. But this is a minor quibble. It's very nice to have my weight automatically tracked.

Absolutely spot on - love them.
I took delivery of these a few days ago. I was looking for some scales that would read my vital stats and upload them to Apple Health without me having to type all the numbers in. And I needed it to be able to do this for 3 people in my family, to their phones, to their Apple Health. These work perfectly. Each morning, open the app, step on the scales, wait and the software speaks out your vital numbers. 20 seconds each person. In addition to the spoken vital stats, there are also other stats gathered (see below).I looked at the Withings scales at £100/£150 depending upon model - yes, they are wifi and don't require you to open an app, but they cost 2-3 times the price for few extra features. I also looked at the Fitbit ones but, again £80-£100 makes them up to double the price of these and don't really give you anything in data terms. Also, the Withings and Fitbit scales require you to have an account for each member who wants to use the scales. These scales do not. Download the app from the App Store and let it read/write your Apple Health data, and you're good.I looked at cheaper ones around £20 but that involves manually entering all the data, and the Salter scales I tried were not consistent. On one iPhone you can log the weight of multiple people in the app, but it can, obviously, only upload the numbers for one of these people (the primary user) to the Apple Health. In use, you NEED to have these on a hard surface. By 'hard' I mean tiled, glass or wood. Even bathroom lino affects the reading. So mine are on a glass kitchen chopping board on my bathroom lino floor and work perfectly. Getting on and off repeatedly gives repeatedly consistent numbers. They are well constructed, take 4 AAA batteries (included) and have a clear display. To get the best, you MUST have the app on your phone. The display only shows weight - it's the phone app that tells you everything else such as BMI, % fat, % muscle, % bone, % water, % lean etc. Once you have your first readings, tap the results graph to find more numbers you can display. Not all have a place for uploading to Apple Health but all the Apple Health numbers are satisfied by these.Fully recommended and well worth £50.

Beets blu scales
Downloaded the app. Put in the batteries and tun the app on. Step on the scales. It is as simple as that. The app records and tracks your progress and feeds into other fitness apps. I checked the accuracy with the calibrated weigh machine at the gym and the results we pretty spot on. As for durability I can't say as only had them for just over a week but so far so good

Nice quality scales that do exactly as expected
Scales work well and integrate well with iPhone health app. No multi user function.
