Red5 Audio RV200 Measurement Microphone

I am building up my studio mic collection and I have to say I love these! Used them recently recording a steel band as part of a 32 mic setup We had 57's on most of the instruments, a full drum mic setup, room mics etc Stuck 2 of these in the middle of the room with a persons head in between them (A trick I picked up from a recording engineer at college) and a Rode NT2a just behind the head about 2 feet above. With this setup we had an amazing binaural recording using just the two red5 mics, they are very flat in frequency response making them amazing for room mics. Although not their main intended purpose they sounded great! Noisy at high gain but with the band being loud it wasn't an issue. Being omni directional they picked up the entire band perfectly! Sent just those 3 mics tracks over to the band as the on the day mix and didn't need to do anything to them!!! Absolutely perfect worth more than they are!

Was disappointed in quality control of the item it was very bass heavy and wasn’t flat at all . Useless for what it supposed to do. Maybe was just unlucky of receiving faulty item.
