Installation straightforward & sealed door drafts well
We have a 1920 Craftsman bungalow with original front door and lockset. The door was installed with gaps, or else in 100 years it has shrunk. I did NOT want to replace the vintage door, so searched online for "This Old House" ways to add weatherstripping that would NOT be visible from inside the home. A youtube by The Honest Carpenter popped up and I watched it. Seemed straightforward to install. I went to the product referral link to this product. Most Amazon reviews were positive, but a few said the rubber was too stiff "especially in the cold". But you put it on the outside and the vid showed how to make post-installation adjustments so I figured why not. My DH took it upon himself to install this IN A WET COLD WINDSTORM with the gale at his back (Wisconsin). Perfect recipe for a grump, but it went in smoothly enough that he was A-OK. I felt a tiny current of air in one spot, so he loosened the screws there (like in the vid), pressed a little, and tightened them. Draft eliminated. We can't believe we lived without this weatherstripping this long. It made a huge difference and cannot be seen from the living room.

Works fantastic - looks good enough
Came as expected... a little pricey given you have to get the bigger size for an 8 foot door. Definitely does a great job keeping the draft out and seals well. This version is much more trim and looks nicer than the thicker stuff. Taking off one star because the metal bends somewhat easily and just doesn’t look quite as sleek as I’d like for a front door with the screws showing - would be great to have a flush screw version.I would buy again though - perfect for a back door... good for a front door.

Better than the weather strip we replaced
We replaced our older weather strip with this new one. The color and finish was nice and it was easy to install.

No screws, damaged product
Product was received damaged and missing parts. The thin plastic it was shipped in was shredded. All 3 pieces of trim were bent, gouged, and scratched. There were no screws.

Metal part is nice, but………
I bought this to supplement the kerf mount weatherstripping on a warped entry door. The metal looks good, but the rubber seal is way too hard. It does not compress well so the seal is not great. Also when installing on my aluminum clad door the screws broke frequently, even though all were pre-drilled. They would probably be fine on a wood door frame. If the rubber seal were softer I think this would be a great product.

so happy to find this.
After replacing door knobs on my kitchen/garage door, I decided the 50 year old weather strip needed to be replaced. The original was aluminum and I found this MD product in white. Looks a million times better. So each of the pieces were too long for my door. So I asked Amazon the question as how to shorten the strips. A few people were nice enough to respond and I cut it to length with a hack saw as was recommended. (I am a 77 year old widow) I learned later that the instructions for installation are in the inside of the package. It was easy to do and I am happy.

Good quality just has hard rubber
I only rated it 4 stars because the rubber seal that goes up against the door is a hard rubber not a soft rubber. I would’ve liked it to have been a soft rubber so I could press it tight against the door so it had a tight seal. But with the hard rubber you just put it up against the door and I feel it doesn’t such a good job like it could if it was soft rubber. But the package came a little messed up but the weather strip was in damaged and straight. I used a grinder and cut off wheel to cut to length.
