This backpack was perfect for a trip to Europe--I was able to fit a change of clothes, shoes, iPad, books, etc., with plenty of room for my other smaller travel essentials. The outer pocket is perfect for stashing a jacked or pair of shoes, and the small upper pocket was great for passport/wallet/chapstick--things I needed at moments notice. I chose this pack specifically b/c there are only two large pockets (I tend to forget where I've stuffed things) and it kept me really organized and was comfortable enough to wear around all day without feeling bogged down. I'm a 5'7" female, and it did not seem too big for my frame.

My old backpack was one of those a lot of kids take to school - one big main storage area with a couple smaller front pockets. When I thought about upgrading, top priorities were storage volume, types of pockets, and padding/comfort.Volume is the one area this pack comes up a tad short, in my opinion. My ideal bag would have enough space to hold 2-3 days worth of clothes + smaller items. With this one, I can carry a pair of jeans + 1 shirt and smaller items OR 2 shirts in the main compartment. I do not consider this a flaw because it is what it is, and for its construction and other aspects, the bag is excellent.Pockets... they're everywhere! You have pockets to hold most any common item you want. I like the interior padded pocket - designed for a laptop or tablet, but it can be employed to hide and protect anything thin. Zippers are big and sturdy.Comfort was clearly a top consideration when NF designers made this one - a benefit of so many years experience. The straps and back breathe well, and the inclusion of the hip support may come in handy if using this for a day hike.One characteristic I was feeling uncertain about when I ordered was the color. I liked the red, but wished it was a deeper hue. Turns out, it is; the actual color is more of a crimson.Bottom line, the North Face has a top-notch reputation for a reason, and this bag is yet another example why.

Background:I'm 24 and have used the same backpack since 5th grade (what's more crazy is that it was WalMart brand!). When mine finally started ripping, I hit the internet researching, because I like to find quality products that last forever. After days of reading and looking at pictures, I narrowed it down to this one and another North Face. Turns out my girlfriend had one of these all along and said she loves hers - so I got it!Important stuff:-The quality is outstanding.-The mesh pouch on the front has become more useful than I imagined.-Everyone keeps saying the Nalgene bottles fit (and they do), but I'm here to answer the real question.. and yes, Powerade bottles fit too.-The small zipper pouch up top is bigger than I thought and holds my iPhone 6 +, which is nice.-The organizer pocket could be bigger, but it's still great and has all the important things like multiple pen holders, a small zipper pocket (perfect for change) and a medium pouch which I keep my calculator in, and a another small pocket I keep my headphones in.-The main zipper compartment is plenty spacious but could be a tad bigger. I keep a MacBook (in a zipper case), a 1.5" binder, and 4 2 subject notebooks in there quite easily.-If anyone is interested, the top of the laptop pouch makes for a great place to clip an EDC holster to for easy access (just take it off before going to school!)I'm extremely happy with my purchase and will always buy North Face backpacks from now on!

I bought this backpack for my husband last Christmas and he loves it. This is a very durable bag with plenty of compartments and pockets for various uses. He takes it with him on long weekend trips, to the park with our daughter, and tosses it in his car for every other imaginable purpose. The colors are great but subdued. The North Face makes a spectacular backpack that will last a lifetime.

So far no issues. Love the color scheme, kind of pricy, but my last north face lasted me like 6 or 7 years through the abuse of a teenager so that's not bad. I like the organization of the bag, I keep lots of wrenches and what not in my bag and just lots of random crap like duck tap and med kits, and so far the there has been a place for basically all of it. Not quite as comfortable as the vault tho.

Took this pack across Europe,NYC,Chicago and was best I have ever owned matter fact just purchased another of same model. Newer version just not the same

A perfect that will last me about three years. Cross my fingers! But I will be using this backpack for awhile. I am constantly in the run and this bag suits it. It has compartments to where I can store small snacks and two water bottles and a bunch of writing utensils. Enough space to carry small items too! Cool cool cool cool!

Great quality, durable and I like the style, too. Has a pocket for my Mac, my iPad and all my stationary, Glad I bought it!

La mochila es de muy buena calidad, espero que me dure mucho tiempo, pues de las mochilas de uso diario es de las más caras del mercado. Está muy bien pues tiene muchos apartados y compartimentos, para llevar portátil, carpetas, el tuper de la comida, etc. De momento estoy muy contento con la compra, espero que siga así en unos años.

So far I have been very please with this bag.The bottom has a toughened fabric so you dont damage it when putting it on rough surfaces.Plenty of space in the bagLaptop pouch fits mac book pro 13inch just nicely and is well padded.The tablet pouch is plenty big enough for ipad etc.All the little pockets and other features are great.And it has held up very well in the rain, i trust having my laptop and camera in it during a downpour .
