BiolageHydra Source Detangling Solution - For Dry Hair, Detangles & Controls Static For Less Frizz & Fly-Aways, Paraben-Free

This Matrix detangling solution works quite well. Better than what I was using before and better than I'd expected. I had been using Matrix Biolage Fortetherapie Strengthening conditioner. That has been dropped by Matrix and I liked it a lot though it was so-so in the anti-tangle department.Like most Matrix products this seems pricey but a little goes a long way. You need very little product to get good results even with long hair like mine. I expect this 13.5oz bottle will last a long time using only the amount you really need.All my other conditioners have been very creamy liquids. This is not. It's almost a paste with about the consistency Vaseline would have is squeezed out of a tube. A little blob (the size of maybe a nickel) and rubbed between my hands to spread it out before applying to my wet hair was just right.In the shower I worked it through my wet hair and combed it out while rinsing. The results were better than I'd hoped and saved me minutes (and gallons of water) I'd otherwise have used fighting tangles!Other things I like about this detangling solution include almost no scent (I hate strong scents in my products!) and that my hair looks nice and is still quite manageable after air dryingIn conclusion I was concerned about Matrix retiring the strengthening conditioner I'd come to like a lot. This detangling solution seems to replace the conditioning of the old stuff just as well plus gives me much quicker and easier comb-out of my hair in the shower. In fact, better than I had expected which earns 5 stars from me.UPDATE Oct 5, 2017:I'm into my 3rd month of use and I'm not quite as excited as I was on the first couple of uses. It worked great then, but hair like so many things varies from wash to wash with respect to tangles. I still have some occasions where I'm fighting stubborn tangles in the shower. This isn't 100% but it is an improvement over my previous conditioner. Just not as much as I first thought.I still think it's worth 5 stars and is very good, but isn't quite the ultimate solution to shampoo tangles I was hoping it might be.

My hair is still tangled after using other conditioners. As I comb it, a lot falls out. With Biolage, my hair is completely smoothe after using it.

My daughter has super curly hair. It gets tangled to the point of (for lack of better term) rats nest and so tangled it almost needs to get cut out. I'm not a fan of methods I've heard of online about co-washing or other methods. A friend of mine suggested this product since her daughter's hair is as curly, and this stuff is AMAZING. I had a friend with a salon license that would buy the huge bottles for me at her salon only store, but after moving away from her, I was left paying CRAZY prices at Ulta. Then I found it on Amazon and have never looked back!!!! Worth the price and it comes to my door! This detangler only takes a small amount, but it works as if you used a ton. I've used it on dry hair that is so matted and easily worked the tangle out with 25% water and 75% detangler all the way to using it just every day on my daughter as maintenance to prevent (or try to prevent) larger tangles. We take this detangler on any trips or sleep overs. I even buy bottles for her to take to her dad's house to ensure she uses it over there since we are a divorced household. Highly recommend this product for anyone with any type of curly/tangle problematic hair.

This detangler is AWESOME!!!! I'm not sure if you're supposed to use it in tandem WITH conditioner, but I don't. This has become my conditioner. And I just love it so. I still have to comb knots out of my hair at the end of each day (bc it's quite long and fine and because this solution isn't magic sorcery), but it does its job VERY well, and makes detangling those pesky knots in the shower, a freakin breeze!

I have partially bleached curly 2c/3a hair and this is my lifeline! My hair is extremely porous and dry. Immediately after a wash with this, and some biolage spray leave in/ biolage everything oil my hair is UNRECOGNIZABLE. Biolage has saved my curls🤞🏼
