5 Stars – Excellent Quality Paper for Pastels or Sketching
Got this along with a set of soft pastels for my niece, and they work perfectly together. The paper has a nice tooth to it that holds the pigment well, and the quality feels great. Nice thickness, no bleed-through, and the assorted colors give some fun options to play with. Great pad for anyone getting into art or building up their supplies!

Texture issues
I would recommend this paper for practice with pastels, but if you do commissions please skip it. Unless you’re digging into the paper, you’ll see all the pores from the paper itself. It’s supposed to “grab” the pastel but to me it did the opposite. I’d recommend almost smooth or sand paper like pastel paper over this.

For gouache,pastel, oil pastel, chalk charcoal or colored pencil
You can use either side of this paper depending on the medium you're working in. Back side or smoother side of the paper without the texture is very good for colored pencil.If you haven't tried doing colored pencil on tinted paper it's a lot of fun. You can use your lighter colored pencils to get some beautiful highlights, normally those pencils not showing up on white paper.Bundle of paper has options for different colors, get only grays, earth tones, or a mix of colors.

High quality paper for chalk pastels
This is excellent paper for the chalk-type pastels. The texture grabs the pastel, and it has a nice weight to it, also. It's not cheap paper, but the price is not unreasonable for the high quality of this art paper. I believe there are professionals who use this paper, so that's an indicator of the quality.

New to pastels Medium..
I just started to use this paper and I'm very happy with it . The only down side is that the pads only come with 24 sheets... This is a must have for pastel drawings , this will be my go to pastel paper from now on.. It really makes all the difference, I recently bought 3 different brands of pastels . one hard and two soft , The hard was by Prismacolor and one was by Soho Urban Artist soft pastels and the other was by Jack Richeson Round landscape signature soft pastels. I also two types of pastel paper and let me tell you the Canson Mi Teintes pastel pad is far superior to the other brand..
