Leather Tape 3X60 Inch Self-Adhesive Leather Repair Patch for Sofas, Couch, Furniture, Drivers Seat (Brown)

I bought a roll of this product as a cheap alternative to premade replacement camera skins. This Kiev 15 SLR had the original leatherette pieces but they were badly peeling, so I removed them and flattened them as best as I could, then used masking tape to stick them to the brown leather tape and carefully cut around the old skin as a template for the new skin.After I was done, the skins stuck really well to the camera body and have a soft "leather-like" grip to them that improves grip on the camera. It's definitely not real leather, but neither was the material on the camera originally.I am unsure of how durable this product is, but considering it's meant to go on furniture that you sit on, I am sure this will last a while on an old camera like this.There's easily enough material here to skin at least 10 cameras, probably more.

Expect to have to redo the adhesion every 3 to 5 months. It doesn't matter how well I clean it it just starts coming unstuck even though it seems like it will be a tight fit at the time.

This product was used on the end of a couch - not leather. The adhesive pulled away rather quickly and had to be glued down.

I tried using this leather tape to cover a peeling spot on a couch. It didn't look right with the leather couch and it quickly began peeling off. This pulled off more leather and made the problem worse.

I had purchased another repair tape on Amazon, looked more like vinyl and I saved it for that. When I pulled it off it really made a mess of the arms of my Desk Chair a Lazy Boy Presidential that I had wore the arms out. I put this stuff on and peeled paper backing off as I went. It looks and feels exactly like leather, because it is! Barely noticeable at a glance. Got a few more years out of my beloved desk chair. Grand kids call it the principal's chair. LOL!

It doesn't matter of what quality the leather is, which is actually quite good, if the adhesive properties of the leather itself is so poor that it renders the leather patch unusable. Given the technology of adhesives today, there is simply no excuse except shoddy craftsmanship to release a product like this, where all the quality is in one area, and the worst possible quality of adhesive is used.If you wish to purchase this, just realize that you are essentially required to also purchase an adhesive that is ideally suited for the task of applying leather patches to the surfaces you wish to repair. Factor that additional cost into whether purchasing this product is in your best interest.

It's OK. It's not leather, more like brown duct tape. The brown is REALLY DARK BROWN. Much darker than online image but not worth the hassle of returning. Easy to use. Quick fix. Update: comes off easily and leaves a very sticky residue behind.

I dont give a 5 star because my puppy pulled it off within an hour but still gave it a good rating. Good product
