Beautiful Coffee Mugs and Terrific Customer Service! UPDATE 8-Months Later: Fail!
We take our morning coffee seriously in our household, and this includes presenting the coffee in glass coffee cups/mugs. I've been wanting to get glass insulated mugs for awhile, and after some research and reading reviews, I settled on the Bezzera & Balena Large 12-oz Double Walled Mugs because I liked their shape, look, and the attention to detail. Upon receipt, I wasn't disappointed: They were beautiful - the etching on the handle was nice - and although they looked delicate, they appeared well made and felt sturdy. I also liked receiving the environment message included in the terrific looking gift box the mugs came in. Admittedly, though, I was disappointed when I found that one of the mugs was defective when condensation formed on the inner insulated wall, and the glass fogged up. My disappointment turned to delight when I emailed Balena to report the matter, and, within minutes, they responded back apologizing for what they felt was a rare lapse in their quality control, and offered several options to compensate me for the inconvenience (gift card, refund, or replacement). Who does that? Anyway, I decided on replacement, and received two new mugs within two days at no cost to me. They were flawless, and I've happily used both (now three!) without any issues. Despite the one defective mug, I'm very pleased with the purchase, and Balena's excellent customer service (thanks Charlie!). I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another set again!UPDATED: I purchased these mugs in Nov 2019, and in July 2020, 8-months later and within 2-weeks of each other, two of the three mugs have failed: The "seal" at the bottom of both mugs - tiny nipples that allow the inner mug wall to breath - allowed water to get into the inner wall (see picture). When I first purchased the mugs, I only hand-washed them because I had an old, seldom-used dishwasher; however, we recently moved to a new house, and began using its dishwasher for the past few months. It was while the mugs were being washed that water got into the inner wall. Well, the Balena advert claims the mugs are dishwasher safe which, apparently, is untrue if both mugs failed the same way. It should be noted that a week before the mugs failed, some light colored striations began appearing on the inner walls of the mugs before they failed. If you look closely at the picture, you can see the striations, too. Anyway, I'm disappointed; my wife and I truly liked these mugs very much, but we won't seek replacements or purchase them again. Frankly, they're beautiful; however, "buyer beware" and hand-wash.

Exquisite object, good quality
Stumped on this while searching gift for a female friend. Really liked the looking and feel of this product, so decided to go with it over three other alternatives. After the mugs arrived, found them looked even better in real life with the right colored table and coaster. My friend liked it a lot. This is more like a thirty to forty dollar equivalent on the market.

Lovely glasses with great attention to detail
Glasses arrived with great presentation, and look really nice in person. Have put them through the dishwasher a couple of times now with no problems. An attractive, high quality glass for my morning coffee

Fancy cups
I hardly write any photo reviews. Can’t believe I got this for 20 bucks.. they are really high quality cups, thick and clear. The packaging is real fancy and elegant too. Definitely look expensive.

Beautiful Mugs
These mugs are beautiful. I like the large size with room for a double espresso and steamed milk. The outside stays cool while the inside remains hot.

Inadequate heat retention
We enjoy the look of the coffee mugs, but they do not seem to keep the coffee hotter than our ceramic mugs. We purchased them strictly for that purpose. Also the lip of the mug is a little thick so the coffee can spill more easily when you are taking a sip.

Great customer service
We really loved these mugs, however unfortunately one of the mugs developed water and condensation in the inner layer.Addendum: Balena was quick to respond to replace the faulty cup. Great customer service.
