Exactly as expected.

My son was preparing for his Chinese placement tests so we bought him this workbook for practices. The key to success is to spend time patiently and work through the book page by page. So he went through the entire book and aced the test with perfect score!

This series of books come from Australia where I'm told Chinese is a fairly common language for study at High School (second only to Japanese and perhaps French). The Friedlein's have put a lot of effort into designing these books and the results demonstrate that.Unlike most boring text-bound books that seem to be rooted in the Victorian era, this series is lively, interesting and fun. It's really everyday Chinese suited for meeting and talking with people rather than formal essay writing.It's ideal for older children and I (nearer to my 40s than teenage years) appreciate the no nonsense straightforward presentation. I don't want to sit down to hours of study and boring repetition - learning should be fun!I really can't recommend this book enough. I really hate when authors obviously post their own reviews of their products and then copy and paste them on every iteration of their books. Apparently somebody's son bought 6 Ni hao books and used them all on his placement exam. Must be a fast reader. This book is horrible disorganized, missing vocab, and has many outright grammatical errors put forward as correct. Worst textbook I have ever used. Stop posting reviews Paul and STOP WRITING TEXTBOOKS.
