It works. For me.
It actually eliminated my morning abdominal cramps, with one dose taken at the start of dinner every day. Probably best to take it on doctor's advice, because they know stuff that we don't, and there are lots of other causes for such problems.. But it doesn't require a prescription. In answer to some questions asked recently: It appears that AVVA also makes a formula with 25,000 USP units per dose, but it seems to be only by prescription. Their website has a page that might document this, but it is restricted to professionals, and I am not one. However, ingredients:Pancreatin, cetyl alcohol, poloxamer 407, copolymer of mathacrylic acid and ethyl acrylate, macrogol 4000, simethicone emulsion, talc, E129*, E171, E172, gelatin* present only in Micrazym 25,000 USP unitsI hope someone finds this enlightening. :-(

effective but use with caution
With a weak pancreas, I use Creon and Kreon daily to digest my food. With a US prescription, it can cost $1000 a month. My Canadian supplier only costs $70, but isn't reliable. This supplier was even cheaper, so I tested this copy as a backup when I can't get the others and still want to eat. The expiration date was farther in the future and would last longer than all the other brands. One pill has the enzymes of two of my prescription pills and works fine, making the price even lower ($25 per month). However, three issues prevent this from being anything other than an emergency safety net for a week or two at a time. 1) the product contains 50 times the medically recommended level of protease. 2) After a week, I noticed some red coloring and slight swelling in my face. But this was still preferable to note being able to eat at all. 3) the product itself warns that it is not for long-term use. Hmmm. So, greater for keeping a foil sheet in each car in case I forget my bottle and a lifesaver for times when Canada decides to stop production for two months at random, but not for everyday use.

Works well.
Seems to work as well as creon and less cost. I use it along side to Creon. Reduces my Creon usage.

Micrazyme versus Creon
Don’t want to take, can’t get a prescription for, or can’t afford Creon? This stuff will take care of that. I have genetically caused EPI and it took YEARS for my GI to agree to test for it. I started taking micrazyme on my own volition and it worked great by itself. I use it now to boost my Creon when I’m faced with a more digestively challenging meal. Six micrazyme pills equals one Creon pill at the dose I take it but experiment to see what works for you. I have yet to be disappointed by micrazyme and feel 1000% better because I’m actually getting nutrition from my food.
